  • I’m really enjoying what they’re doing with Iconix🤩 Keep up the good work. 😉👍
  • Awesome interview! We the fans love to hear the thought process behind creating and building Heroclix sets/Iconix! Can't wait for more in the future! 👍

Happy I found your channel. I’m getting back into Heroclix due to my son finding my old figures from 2003. I’ll be buying a starter set and a brick to play with my son! Unfortunately the local comic store only does magic the gathering and I’ll have to travel 45 miles to play with others 😭.

Nice to see D&D clix getting touched on. Hopefully someone on the Set Design team plays Idle Champions; there's a lot of D&D characters in that which would make fantastic Heroclix.
  • @Rodomonteventura
“Kay-moe” pronunciation confirmed ✍️ This was so awesome though!

I wonder how many of these need to be done before a Dial H Iconix set happens?
  • Thanks for the insight! I would have loved to hear about other IP and the process for obtaining those licenses (Naruto).

Love this behind the curtain session! Major take aways: #1 Contractually obligated to crank out merch. This worries me when it comes to quality control and forced overturn and phasing out sets from modern to silver. #2 licensing coord w/ marvel & dc with 1 year lead times from conception to shelf…that’s challenging indeed w/ trending content like Next Phase. Interesting #3 DP/WX nuggs got me HYPED AF!! In closing, which one of these guys are in charge of quality control on distribution card graphics/text. Let me work for you, I will sign NDA, review your templates, graphics, text body etc. All I ask in return is access to con exclusives :) I’d love to make it to cons to buy in person, but it just ain’t the cards for me…TBH you wouldn’t have to twist my arm hard just to help out for sneak peek into sets ;) Holler at me!

This interview was super cool. Qustions I have for future interviews. Why are certain characters repeated so soon or so often. Did we need 4 versions of Wonder Woman in Batman Team Up right after Wonder Woman 80th? I would rather have seen different unique characters than the Wonder Women. Did we need the same Batman villains in Notorious that we just got in Batman Team Up? I would have rather seen different Batman villains or more Flash villains. Notorious PAH Kit with Poison Ivy. Why did this not include terrain objects? Time Masters. How did you decide to make the Jurassic pieces of this set in this Jumbo size as opposed to the size of Avengers Infinity / XMen Darl Phoenix Saga colossal size. I feel like we have been waiting forever for a DC set with a 2x2 colossal in every booster like AI and XDPS.

Nice interview! It'd be cool if they spoke about organized play, the return to monthly op kits, store championships, summer OPs, and how they envision a healthy relationship between Wizkids and the local play group. It feels like they have been trying different things, different types of monthly op kits, chase boosters, etc, and leading into later in the year where there is an absence of all of it. Is it a high priority for Wizkids? Does OP have a person or persons in charge of it? Post-pandemic, what are their goals leading into 2025?
  • If I could have said 2 things to those guys, it would be these... (1)as a new collector (started with ww80th), I'm concerned with the absences of some characters from modern overlapping with many and multiple versions of other characters example: no modern dr. Fate, but 4 modern wonder woman.... (2)since there are now many repeated traited mechanics examples: shift focus, rally die, recruiter, goons and other callbacks/replace; it would be cool to see most or all of these mechanics in each set, rather than sets focusing on just 1 or 2 of these examples

Congrats on getting this kind of access. While I really hate the figure design and balance within the set, I always remain hopeful WK can get back on track. The game feels like it is designed by people who are more into card games and have no real history with the game. Next Phase was a flop and based on the brick Scott Porter opened, this is shaping up to be Next Phase 2 with just better character CHOICES. It makes me sad listening to these gentleman who seem to have passion and excitement for these sets and yet I see figure after figure that are just trash. Where is the disconnect happening that leads to 5% being used by local players and 95% going into a box of free stuff for new players?
  • @V.I.N.C.I.N.T.
Phase 4 of marvel sucked ass. So the only good thing from next phase is werewolf by night and kingpin. I couldn't care less about any other piece in this set.
