Useful lesson, as always, Emma! You know, what I appreciate of your lessons more is that IMHO your suggestions go beyond the mere study of English language. They're wider. Especially for what concerns student's behaviours. Speaking about creating habits, we often say "I have no time for this", because of work, family, hobbies, whatever... There is exactly where we have to change our mind! Getting out of the comfort zone IS the key. Hard but true. If you want to get something you never had, you have to do something you never did. Thanks, especially for your (indirect) motivational coaching too! ;-)

I could ‘fluently’ talk to myself but when I’m in a conversation, my accent is suck
  • @rjanegpl
I speak confidently when i'm alone but when i'm in conversation my english becomes "Monkey clever banana flavour"
  • @octobermoon3211
Immediately started to read comments out loud :) thanks for the lesson!

I was born in England in' 65 and raised in Canada from '69. When I'm around my British relatives, I feel so awkward because I don't sound like them. Around my Canadian friends they pick up my accent after being with my family. I've decided I want to sound more English because it will help me stand out as a sales person. Thank you for your tips!
  • @Maryam-od7he
    1. Read out loud 2. Know English sounds & practice! 3. Tongue twisters 4. Natural pronunciation
  • @daothang7892
Your suggestions and tips are really useful for me as well as non native speakers to practise and improve pronunciation day by day. Many thanks from Vietnam. I was so impressive when you talk exactly the most popular mispronunciation of Vietnamese. Amazing!
  • I'm having a trouble in my grammar and pronunciation, that's why I'm here. I'll keep searching for a tutorial everyday to become the greatest :)
  • @Strobenz
I feel like my accent doesn't come naturally. When I hear myself, I think it sounds as if I'm trying way too hard to imitate a native speaker's accent. Edit: 3 Years later I still feel that way, but I no longer care bc native speakers apparently like the sound of "exotic" accents like mine lmao

whaaaaat a magical way to make english easier! i swear i understood everything you said without translating any word, and even without see the subtitles bellow, plus you are sweet and that's what making it work good, simply love teacher😍
  • @fazzynone1
Hi Emma! What irritates me the most about my accent is that some of the words are difficult for me to pronounce correctly. When I'm talking with my college friends, I feel awkward because some of them can barely understand what I'm saying. English is my second language, followed by Arabic.
  • @SaidaAnil
    * Don’t doubt yourself. * it’s okay to be embarrassed, that’s where u built confidence.
  • Coming from the UK and living in the US for years my British accent has declined, however, your information is quite useful!! Cheers!
  • @thanhluong821
Thank you for the video. This is a tremendous help for someone who is seeking for a way to improve their accent. I'm so glad I bump into this one. Today is lucky day.
  • 1. read out loud 2. get to know english sounds and practice 3. tongue twisters 4. natural pronunciation (connected speech, imitate a native speaker, make a recording and try to indetify what's wrong with your pronounce) And practice everyday!!
  • @thetightend
My tongune don't want to cooperate when I'm talking. It's just randomly spinning around my mouth like some worm.
  • Thanks a million Emma! I really want to sound great and natural when I utter words in English. I'll have to work harder with the sounds
