Detailed review and test of the 2026 BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport, including B58 engine, handling, interior, price and more.

The BMW X6 is the coupe-SUV (or SAV) iteration of the BMW X5 large luxury SUV. It has a sloping roofline and vaguely more athletic styling. But it's still a substantial, heavy crossover.

Our test car has BMW's famed B58 petrol 3.0-litre engine with six inline cylinders. It's a good fit for the X6, which is a direct rival to the Mercedes GLE Coupe and Audi Q8.

Really great review thank you. I agree I much prefer I drive to alternative systems from Audi etc. Your comments and critical analysis of the limitations of the screen are so refreshing. Finally a motoring journalist really holding the brand accountable and actually critically reviewing the car. It is exactly why we watch these videos.

Really enjoyed this smart video. Question: from the driver's side, did your left leg hit the door requiring you to adjust how you exit the car? I've heard that a bit. Thank you!

Yeeesss, thank you for showing tablet attachment options for the back seat, for those of us with older kids. Quiet kids in the back seat… happy parents in the front seat😊. Keep this up with any car review, it’s a key thing I look for when watching car reviews (charging points, where I can attach an iPad stand).
  • Does a camera view come up on the actual screen for blind spot detection or only on the mirrors?

Great! Nice & crisp review with lots of practical points covered, Love from India 🇮🇳. Just to point out one more thing which needs mention and I really miss in my new X7 is absence of Electronic Child lock for the rear doors which are there in my Range Rover and even my Skoda Octavia!

There’s some who drove their x6 and while cruising at 50-60mph, or about 100km/h they notice a strange floating sensation and loses feel of the wheels. I know it’s electrically controlled but many complain the weird feeling is not natural unseen in other similarly priced luxury suvs. Just thought to let future x6 potential customers to test drive and make sure it’s okay with them. Oh sorry forgot to add this was only noticed in rim sizes at 21” or larger.

I've never liked the shape of these cars. They look like giant slugs on wheels. Give me a sedan any day.

This guy is hyper critical. A little too much. Ruins the viewing experience with the use of lack of positive language
