I’ve got 20 common English contractions to practise with you today! l will teach you how to pronounce it’s, don't, you’ve, weren’t, ain't, aren't, haven’t, wasn't, hadn't and many more - so that you sound more natural when you speak English!

Contractions are shortened forms of English words, such as:
☑️ don’t
☑️ it’s
☑️ aren’t
☑️ they’ve
☑️ ain’t
☑️ hasn’t

They are extremely common in spoken English, and common in informal written English too. 📝 Learning to hear and use English contractions is one of the best ways to improve your listening skills and sound more natural when you speak in English!

So that is what we are going to do today!

Don’t miss the BONUS SPEAKING PRACTICE!! 🤩
I’ve included some conversation practice at the end of this lesson - so you can speak with me! We’ll practise using these contractions fluently, in a useful, everyday conversation between friends. 👯

Hello Emma, I don't know whether you made a video about it already, but a video where you analize can vs. can't would be very interesting. Of course it's not too hard to tell them apart when pronounced by an Australian, but for us non native speakers it gets pretty confusing when pronounced by speakers from the US or Canada. Thanks and keep up the excellent work.
  • It was an impeccable video! Especially this dialog at the end of the video, that was awesome! Thank you so much for this lesson and have a great day😊
  • @nunes7007
