What an insane weekend this was and it's just the first episode! For those of you who don't want to watch the FULL story of everything that's happened, once the full series is posted we'll have a wrap up on Out of Spec Reviews. Before we post the rest, let us know your predictions! Who do you think won the race?

"Stop sign is just a suggestion" I am sold

Very few people will appreciate how much work it must have been to edit all of this together. Road trip videos are already challenging to put together, but having so many different video sources and crossing time zones is whole different level of challenging. I’m glad you made this to counter MKBHD’s fairly poorly done comparison of Tesla and CCS charging infrastructure and to help show people that you don’t need a Tesla to road trip an EV.

The look on Allysa's face when Kyle explains driving a Taycan....

This is the best video yet, Kyle. This is actually better than cannonball in my opintion. Great work!!

Imagine if a senior citizen has to figure out electrify America charging given kyles experience at his first charger. These type of issues need to be resolved quickly
  • Hey, that was me in the orange Mach-E at 1:24:18. It was great to get to say hi to you guys and it looked like you were having a great trip. Hope all went well for you in part 2 :) I had a great trip with none of the issues you guys had. Someone in a Rivian did tip me off to the broken station in Glenwood as they were leaving so I avoided that.

Love all the nerd information you pack into your videos. These long road trips aren't easy to film and edit, props to you! Looking forward to part 2.

Great video and a historical record of the early days when EVs were just beginning to becoming more popular and diverse.

I've been taking Tesla roadtrips since 2015, but I've learned so much more about my own car's efficiency by watching you guys. Great job, can't wait to see who makes it across the finish line first!
  • The Kyle/Alyssa combo is really funny to watch, and I think this is the first video where both of their personalities really came out.
  • @amnottabs
I like how the Model X's driver looks like the James Bond villain of the crew and also happens to own the most extravagant, hassle-free and best performer vehicle of the batch

Best video yet, and so well edited. Awesome work. It's also almost an advertisement for Tesla SC infrastructure.
  • On long distance road trips, there is a thing called bladder range. This is an exciting race!
  • @Captain-Awesome
I think that Kyle’s (wife/girlfriend) is a very patient lady. She just might have more patience than a Hospital.
  • @cydeweyz
This is much more entertaining than I thought it would be
  • @fuzzyblanket443
Patrick the best typical ford dad trying his best . Love it !!😂
  • @promogul
This is thrilling to watch. So far validates why I got the Model Y LR. I knew those EA charging stations were janky. It’s fun to strategize charging stops. I use both Tesla maps and ABRP for the 1000 mile trips to optimize time. The average info between the two apps usually is what actually happens. I’ll guess Model X will win. Awaiting episode 2….

Showing the difference in charging systems makes me even more grateful to own a Tesla - just plug in and it works. No weird app communication shenanigans!
