While working on neon void, our mentality for doing redstone was mainly to make it look as insane as possible - and in that regard, the prison was a success
  • you see, this prison would be flawless, but omz found a very good bypass to this prison. You see he pressed f5, see using f5 gave him a whole new perspective and he was able to see a hopper with lazy writing that he couldn’t of seen before.
  • @isaacking1524
30:12 "Both of us realized how our perspectives had been closed-off from each other". You see, we both used F5...
  • At 30:29, there's a single frame of braille. "⠍⠽ ⠝⠁⠍⠑ ⠊⠎ ⠕⠵⠽⠍⠁⠝⠙⠊⠁⠎ ⠅⠊⠝⠛ ⠕⠋ ⠅⠊⠝⠛⠎ ⠇⠕⠕⠅ ⠕⠝ ⠍⠽ ⠺⠕⠗⠅⠎ ⠽⠑ ⠍⠊⠛⠓⠞⠽ ⠁⠝⠙ ⠙⠑⠎⠏⠁⠊⠗" Translated, it reads "my name is ozymandias king of kings look on my works ye mighty and despair." This quote is a reference to some century-old poem about an explorer who comes across the ruins of a once great ancient Egyptian civilization. At the entrance to the desolate ruins is a plaque inscribed with the quote from Ozymandias, the pharaoh. The quote seems to tie in heavily with the themes of ambition and inevitable abandon present throughout most of the video. It also doubles as a Technoblade reference, which is cool!
  • I like how the video starts off with introducing cool prisons and then eventually just descends into madness
  • Honestly, as one of the earliest members to join neon, I can say that it was one of the most fun and engaging things to work on. Seeing it go from bedrock, to prismatic horizon, to 1.17 neon all the way to the final version was truly an experience on it's own. But I can also say that after about a year, it became one of the most mentally draining things that I've ever done. Just realising after more than a year of work how insanely ambitious it really is was devastating. The demotivation became even worse when it turned more into a adventure map than a prison. I'm lucky tho that I didn't participate in any of the drama and never really read the messages in the discord, I was just there to do redstone. While I still like the complex way of prison building way more, I'm kind of happy it's over. Goodbye Neon Void, it's been a pleasure.
  • Really cool video but I’m waiting for the next stream group prison video 😁
  • @unflexian
in 30 minutes, you have fully radicalized me to your side in an online argument over a popular puzzle in a subdicipline of block game engineering. God bless you kenedian.
  • @CosmiBear
Kens done it again. Hes made another cinematic masterpiece showcasing the prison community. Thank you Ken.
  • You know, I’m glad my one contribution to this entire project was an office, and absolutely nothing else. Long live the Sergeant Duck office
  • @fernious2078
I did not expect to be "baby shoes, never worn"-ed in a minecraft prison video, cuz that was a genuinely suprising line lol.
  • The way you described this almost felt like the whole ordeal was the Cold War of the Minecraft Prison community.
  • @StormStqr
I'd love to see a more in depth review of some of the universals, it's fascinating to see how prison building and breaking can find errors in the game
  • So Ken is both a prison expert and a counterintelligence operative, man of many talents indeed XD
  • @Mr.Small.
as someone who kinda left the prison community a while ago, I've been waiting for someone to explain the whole history of the thing and this is basically that just super concise and i love it.
  • I was more invested in this 32 minute youtube video than most actual movies I've seen. An insane premise Masterful storytelling Perfect editing A giant echo chamber that thinks Kenadian is a threat to freedom of speech. One of the masterpieces of all time, 15/10
  • @POH341
Did I ever tell you the tale of the Minecraft?
  • I'm extremely honored to have been given a chance to work on this project, especially for as long as I did. Although my only truly substantial contribution were those mushrooms in Cell C (and quite a bit of largely unused concept art I guess), that build is by far the one I'm most proud of out of everything I've created. Seeing it used in so many shots in this video felt indescribably amazing. The Neon community has been wonderful to work with and just be around during my time in this project and I've made so many connections though it. I couldn't be more grateful to everyone involved, namely Zenos for starting this monumental project and directly inviting me in the first place, and Kenadian for documenting so much of it into this video. From starting out with absolutely no redstone experience and, admittedly, much too small of a building background to ever be considered for a project of this scale, /literally on an ipad/, to seeing this prison flourish into the unfinished but still marvelous piece of art that it has become, I've never been more glad to work on something so incredible in my life. Thank you, Neon Void, and farewell.
