  • Hearing Tomm ask "Someone believes in me, right?" broke my heart a little. He just sounds so tired and depressed. Poor guy.
  • I've never heard of Tomm Hulett, but these videos really remind me of why I hate nerd culture. They're good videos but man hard to watch sometimes.
  • 1:39 “Tomm Hulett, we love Silent Hill more than you do” The self-entitlement is real
  • As a game developer that has worked in complicated projects managed by big companies that care literally nothing about the quality of the product they are developing I think this kind of video is super necessary in order to make people understand that most of the time things aren't as they seem, that the actual developers of the game (programmers, artists, etc.) have very little or nothing to do with the big decisions that lead the project in one direction or another. Sadly this is the truth of most big companies... Thank you TheGreatDebate for making this video.
  • I'll admit, I use to scapegoat Tomm as well. You guys have really opened my eyes throughout the years.
  • I animated TV shows and animated 'reboots' of a certain beloved team of characters. I was paid by the frame, had my job threatened repeatedly, and received bullshit from the studio clients. On top of that, all the fans turned the rage of their 'childhood' being ruined on the animators-- Not the production company (Of which I am not allowed to call out.) in-charge of pinching every penny till yearly budget for the production continued to drop per season, with even higher quality expectations. Less than four animators remain from the original first season team. So the next time you see a remake/reboot/revival of your favorite show or game, and you cringe at the direction it has gone; get mad at the executive assholes that favour cheap, short and easy products. They usually are the ones responsible for fucking things up.
  • Ya'll, start a petition to give me total ownership over Konami. The company has got to be worth, like, what, 20 bucks? $22.50?
  • Somehow i feel even more at peace now with the franchise than before. Thanks guys.
  • TwinPerfect literally called Tom out and then claim they are not responsible even though they were the one who started it? What the heck.... Props to Fungo for coming out and apologize directly.
  • I use to think that the Twin Perfect guys acted all egotistical as a joke and were just playing characters, but no, they're just really that hateful. The thing I really don't like about their videos is that I feel like they're talking down to me.
  • @chaosd1
Senior Associate Producer... SAP. It was there all along! Konami set him up as a sap to take the fall for the series!
  • I felt genuinely sad hearing about how hard Tomm worked to do right by fans and the series, yet was met with so much disdain. I really hope he's doing better now.
  • I think those parodies of Twin Perfect skits you did at the start went a bit overboard but I'm still impressed at how much work you put into them. ....wait what
  • That Kenji Ono comment was incredibly important. I have a big passion in games history and preservation is a very concerning issue. But I haven't read much from the Japanese side of things. But now reading the words from a journalist working there, that gave me hope that people there are working on that as well. So thank you for including that. And amazing research and very well made video. Keep up the good work (whenever you can, haha)
  • I always felt that laying the blame so thick on Tomm wasn't entirely fair, but now that we have a lot more hindsight and clarity, it straight up makes me sick that he got crucified the way he did. He was trying his damn best to keep that franchise on track for better for worse, but word of mouth and people like TP made it seem like all his bad choices were almost to intentionally ruin the series. Its vogue to trash on Konami now, but Tomm got a huge amount of heat way before the Kojima/PT fiasco, he's a champion for getting through it and I'm glad he's still working at WayForward.
  • I find it poetic how Twin Perfect ended, they started being douches and they ended being douches to one another.
  • @BenPlus
I sort of figured out he was being scapegoated after seeing his hesitation at the new voices in the HD collections, and after the Silent Hills/Hideo Kojima ordeal it became clear who was really throwing the whole IP in the trash.
  • 1:30 man, I used to love this kind of content back in the day. But nowadays I find this Angry Reviewer Guy style so cringeworthy. It's has zero substance, It's just a bunch of grown up men ranting loudly for 15 minutes. Bad jokes, bad criticism, horrible acting. I'm so happy the Internet grew pass this kind of thing.
