The Joni Mitchell version of this song will always be my all-time favorite, but I knew Chaka Khan would do it justice because, well, she's Chaka Khan! That's what she does. She'll kill her songs and kill yours too! Lol.

I have loved Chaka Khan since I was a young Caucasian. My extremely racist family shamed me but I kept that love hidden for decades. My wife knows my secret and thinks it’s cute. I did my best to raise my kids to never judge anyone by their color but by their contributions too the community. I’m not bragging about myself only explaining how a young white kid from the sixties survived living in a predominantly black neighborhood in 1968. How I was treated was a simple confused reaction to the real racism they faced daily. All that too expose and explain a 50 year old crush. Tell me something good still ranks at the top of my favorite songs.

I love Chaka Khan… and this is testament to how well Joni was mixed and produced on C&S. Even with a number of great components it’s hard to pull an arrangement of this song off…
