I love how the drama between Katie and her father is so realistic. Katie is not a generic rebellious teenager, her father is not a generic boomer, they are both portrayed in the most realistic way possible. And as someone who also faced difficulties with my parents due to my college choice, this movie really spoke to me, all thanks to the realism of their relationship.

Just like Nimona this year, The Mitchells Vs The Machines is an animated movie that got sold to Netflix because another company didn't believe in them, and both are the best animated movies of their year. Mitchells is so funny and so heartfelt. I really cried when it's revealed that the Dad had to give up his lifelong dream for his family.

The fact that this movie acknowledges that Furbies are indeed creepy as f*ck and actually make fun of it was hysterical.

This movie is so amazing. The animation and visual style are top notch, the struggle to connect and tension between Katie and Rick feels so real, it has a great message about family and understanding, and Monchi is absolutely hilarious. It deserves so much more praise than it's already gotten.

It was an incredible film that managed to be a tear jerker, hilariously funny, filled with an awesome message and inclusive to boot. It had the energy/style of the Spiderverse movie.

Fun fact this was the directorial debut of Mike Rianda who was the creative director on Gravity Falls. He voices Aaron the son and based the Mitchells on his own family.

Those Furbie subtitles had me dying the first time watched this. "Witness the twilight of man" has got the be one of the funniest lines I've ever seen on an animated movie... ever.

This film is freaking great. It's funny, weird, wholesome, and has a ton of heart. And it looks amazing. Also, the Furbies set piece was pure genius.

I remember being pleasantly surprised when it dropped on Netflix awhile back, and thinking how it was almost Pixar quality. Great film, very cool visuals and storytelling.
