Getting out in -10 to test out a shelter idea I discovered - putting it to the test in an ultimate way by going out without a sleeping bag or pad to see if I can survive the night in the snow
Ig @xanderbudnick

Man i love watching how your videos evolve through the seasons, there is not a single video you've put out in 3 years that i haven't thoroughly enjoyed, my favourite youtuber by far, thanks for the inspiration from Ryan, North wales! Your content has truly changed my life, and has pushed me through my struggles and gotten me comfortable with the great outdoors

Hi Xander. I am very gratefull for your videos. In 2020 I lost my dad in a car accident and my mon was very injured, she needed an emergency surgery and stayed in ICU for about a month. To entertain her during our lost, we started to see your videos. We really enjoy your trips and we're fascinated with Canada landscapes. Its such a beatifull country. We also love when you eat your enourmos steaks. I hope someday I can bring her to Canada to meet a moose (although they're not particularly friendly) Greetings from Brazil. Gabriel and Daniela Froes. Happy hollidays to you

Xander and Luke from “outdoor boys” are like the same person. Just pure wholesome vibes spent in picturesque landscapes doing cool nature shit. I wanna see them do a video together!

very smart move. nylon plastic and emergency blanket. its like a sauna. this is best way i've seen this done.

This looks like an amazing setup for at least 2 campers - having 2 people could probably mean that you can sleep longer and being sure that more people is looking after the fire - also, 30 degrees inside, while it is -10 outside that is an insane difference - one can only imagine how cozy, like super cozy, this would get with a matress, a blanket and a pillow, after almost a whole day of gathering firewood this must be an amazing experience, and considering the simplicity of the setup, I cannot help but feel like the knowledge of this shelter could save a lot of good souls out in the cold.

This is a classical double nodia. Very common in Urals and Siberia. To impress efficiency of this fire you need to use another one big log in front of two logs. To increase warm isolation on the ground you need to made a log bed and put your sticks on it. It also improves total comfort of your sheltered night..

The best thing to carry in your bag is knowledge! Simple, but VERY effective shelter you made. Thanks for a great video.
  • I don't know why but enjoy watching your camping videos over alot of other channels brother, please keep them coming, the winter ones are pretty awesome

Went out and did this tent and it worked like a charm.
  • I recently found your channel and fell in love with camping. I just slept the first night alone in the forest near my childhood home, it was -15°C and still a really nice trip. Greetings from Finland🇫🇮
