This channel is my go to when I need to unwind from the insanity of the world. Wholesome YouTube at its best.

Brother, please. And I mean please. Do not stop making content. You are the escape I need so badly from the normalcy of the life I currently live. I only get to hike a few miles a week and that means the world to me. Watching you is almost just as good ;) I’ve dealt with addiction and all the bad stuff as well. Nature and working hard really is a cure. I’m very proud of you. Keep going!!
  • Man, I never knew you could start a fire with a battery and some chewing gum wrapper! It's like watching The History Channel, but more entertaining. Happy New Year Xander 🎉
  • @polemeros
Being an old guy, I keep being impressed all to hell just with the physical strength, stamina and endurance involved. Then there's the knowledge and skill both of bushcraft and of photography, and the upbeat, can-do attitude. Ten thumbs up!
  • @bloodyeyeful
I spent 6 weeks in the woods with only one item, my RV. LOL. TY Xander for another great bit of entertainment.

Xander, my wife and I love watching your videos. I especially love your sense of humor and your humility. Too many people want to claim to be experts and know-it-alls and your not one of them. Even though I am ex-military and have been in the outdoors most of my life...I am still learning and have learned some things from you. Some valuable things. Thanks so much for what you do and keep on doing it. Being out in nature surely is therapeutical and is definitely a reminder of where we all come from. Cheers!

It is crazy the amount of information this man offers. Super grateful to have come across this channel. Thanks Xander!
  • @wildhomestead
DUDE a BATTERY AND A STICK OF GUM! You have serious balls going out in the bush with just these three items! RESPECT! I need major lessons from you on starting fires with raw and wet standing dead wood, you are a freaking Jedi master at this. WHAT A THUMBNAIL AS WELL! Well done!
  • @Weird-Mike
There are SO MANY horrible "camping in the woods" videos that cheat their work, you obviously keep it real and I'm totally here for more.
  • The first time I saw Xander do this was how I found the channel. Awesome to see him testing himself again with the strategy, really drives home that these kinds of fires could save your life in a survival situation.
  • @davewinch7677
You're the man! Last year I taught a survival class and I told everyone that I can make fire by using a stick of gum and my GPS. You can never have too many tricks up your sleeve.
  • @jpmonti85
I love crawling into bed, shutting off the crazy world, family safely asleep, and falling completely impressed into this! Amazing! Thank you!
  • @abhay3976
Since 2022 I’m using your channel as a mind therapy to get out of negative thoughts and it really helped me a lot.😊
  • @gourddrawing
Amazing to watch you going out there with continually fewer items each time. And in cold wet surroundings. If you would ever get into a survival situation I would bet that you would do pretty well. Love your channel. You are an inspiration. 👍👍👍

hi xander. I am 26 hailing from the usa, i get a lot of inspiration from your videos. I have connected with nature to help combat feelings of depression/ substance abuse- something i think you have mentioned dealing with to an extent yourself. Anyway i always learn a lot from you whether it be your camera work, knowledge, or just the poop tips and wanted to say thank you for what you do. You inspire me to follow a similar path, and its something i definitely intend to pursue, albeit probably from the comfort of a tent and sleeping bag lol.

I have OCD and anxiety, and your channel always helps me to calm down and de-stress when I need to. Thanks for everything !
  • @rickd100
Happy new year Xander thanks for always pulling us away from the busy bustling world the vibe and humor is always fire!
  • @saiyanbrat5174
Thank you Xander! Your videos get me thru my bad pain days ❤ I appreciate all that you do for us
  • @robintheoutside
Really been enjoying watching you push and test yourself a little further every video! Thanks for sharing and Happy New Year!
