Published 2024-06-30
I know you’re on the fence about the Haslab Cantina, let me break it down for you. I’ll compare it to the movie and to custom cantinas. I talk about possible ways to maximize your display, and address the common criticisms of this set. Plus I look at the various figure offerings and discuss their accuracy and possible reuse.

  • Hey Bert, I wanted to let you know that you are by far my favorite 3.75 Star Wars content creator. The amount of research you put into these things is insane, and I find all of your videos very helpful! Keep up the amazing videos!

This is hands down the best description anywhere online. Thanks it’s great.

I backed a Deluxe and a Standard. Had to. This is the ultimate Haslab for me.

Awesome video Bert. Very well thought out as always! This is such an awesome set and I can't wait.

Awesome and incredibly in depth analysis! Thanks for putting in the time. I’ve gotten really tired of channels that focus too much in negativity and have started blocking them, and unfortunately Retroblasting was one of those. Yeah, I get it, Hasbro didn’t give you what you want. They don’t give me what I want a lot of the time, but I don’t need a 2 hour video on why your butthurt about it. This here though, this type of content I would sit through for hours. You point out the issues that disappoint you, but you also offer solutions and options to improve upon the short comings, which is why you absolutely rock! Love the content!

Amazing video! I thought i had pretty good knowledge on my favourite Star wars scene but.... you took it next level! I am backing a regular and deluxe set. Keep up the great work!
  • Truly awesome attention to detail. I'm rethinking how I'm going to approach displaying the Cantina and I'm definitely adding some lighting. The 7-pack Cantina band was recently on sale here in the UK so picked it up cheap. Its already doubled in price on eBay here too but old cantina bar sections and cups seem to have dropped off in price.
  • You are spot on with your comments about the significance of the Cantina scenes. From 1977 until 1983, with the exception of Bossk, Zuckuss, Yoda, & the Ugnaughts, the Cantina scenes were the only source of aliens in the SW Universe.
  • Also, you are totally correct on the crazy prices of older Cantina figures on eBay. People just need to be patient and see what Hasbro released or re-releases through to winter 2025.

I just really hope that Arleil Schous gets made because he’s on my most wanted list! Also I backed the deluxe edition.
  • Great video man, especially liked your mockup about placing Greedo and Han up front.
  • @jameshamer481
You made so many great points- Hasbro should hire you to sell this! Great video 🎉

If Stan Solo did a Cantina Retro Blasting would tell us it's best thing ever... Because he'd have a free one to 'review'..

I did the same math in the Facebook TVC group concerning price comparisons with Hole in the Ground Productions (no shade on him intended whatsoever, I love his stuff, and his speeders will be parked outside my Haslab bar when I get it). It is crazy to me that so many people are out there saying they should just be getting the other options available instead of backing this project. I mean, the Haslab is way cheaper if you match its price with what else is available. Then, there is the shipping on the heavy resin vs the Haslab lightweight plastic. Thanks for spelling it all out for the people, Bert. Hope it gets fully backed.
