Need to start asking why the state and the Feds won’t get a grip on the fuels problem in this state.
  • I love how these news casters bring a real human element to the news talking about places she used to visit in college, or talking about how she went into town and got some coffee and saw people sleeping in their cars.
  • Insult to injury is so true ! I live in Chico and its very hard to see these fires in the surrounding areas..!!!!!
  • Rachel, I would like to personally thank you for talking about the people who are still living in their cars and on the streets since November of 2018. Housing is a huge issue in this community above more than most places in California. I truly believe my community is absolutely full of climate refugees who are living with PTSD each and every day. And we aren't talked about enough. Thank you 🙏
  • After the Camp Fire we had the Bear/Complex Fire and Berry Creek was destroyed. Now the Park Fire. I said it ten years ago. Western Climate Zone 8 is expanding. Zone 7 is shrinking. It will be Chaparral all the way to 5,000ft in another 10 years. The native conifers can't live at those temps. They become fuel for mega fires. The late rain in May we got this year causes the grass in zone 8 to become thicker. Same thing happened in 2018. We got rain late in May. Bad combo. Stressed conifers and abundant ladder fuel.
