Due to the State Fair being cancelled, Manitowoc Minute host Charlie Berens decides to take matters into his own hands by recreating popular State Fair foods in his backyard. Watch as Charlie "attempts" to deep fry cheese curds, pickles, snickers, and maybe a few Tums!

    "Vegetable oil or Crisco, whatever I found in the garage." Midwest garage, just a bigger junk drawer.
  • For perfect deep-fried Snickers every time: 1. Unwrap and freeze the actual candy bar. 2. Set on counter for 5 minutes and wait for it to start to "sweat". 3. Dust "moist" bar with cornstarch. 4. Dredge through a 100% egg wash(no milk). 5. Dredge through your batter that should be slightly less thicker than pancake batter. 6. Lay on tray and refreeze. 7. Once frozen for the second time place immediately into 300°F(not 350°) oil. 8. Remove from oil once a golden color has been achieved. 9. Place on prefrozen plate/bowl and drizzle with caramel and fudge. 10. Scoop ice cream on the side and serve! (A dusting of powdered sugar adds good flare!😁)

    I have a cousin that lives in Wisconsin. Every year he comes to Mississippi for Thanksgiving. I usually get about 30 phone calls from other family members and cousins asking is Ronnie coming!?. He is absolute the highlight of our family. And when I say this guy here is imitating my cousin Ronnie, it's an understatement. For four days every year during Thanksgiving with my family it is the funniest four days of everybody's life in my family. Ronnie is truly a national treasure. We have been saying for years we should film our Thanksgiving. And this just gave me an idea. Long live Ronnie.
