As an absolute dumb dumb who has stripped a nail SEVERAL times, I've always found the rubberband hack to work! See, the key ingredient that you need to get it to work that you guys were missing is desperation
-
Next project, a new Eating Out Box Of Shame, but made with resin and LEDs.
-
For the wood one: When you dent the wood, the mass you displace from the dent doesnt leave the block of wood, it just gets compressed. Since wood is porous and heat expands, the moisture fills all the pores and the heat causes them to rexpand, pushing the mass back into shape.
-
Watching the glue part, I’m here like: I use salt to clean up glue spills as it stops glue from bonding and makes it kinda like slime.
-
The true hack here is Katylen’s bun magically staying on her head with no hairband.
-
"A... peersonaal massaager...?" "Katelyn this isn't that type of channel" I'm dead 😂
-
Conspiracy theory: the whole Raycon sponsorship was just an elaborate ruse to convince us that they really use the treadmill build on a regular basis and it's not just a coatrack right now.
-
Evan: "The secret to stripping, my friends..." Katelyn: genuinely concerned Evan: "I know I've been asked this multiple times..." Katelyn: flustered "...go on" I DIED
-
Why does this feel like it was filmed at 3 am, after having entirely lost your minds? 10/10, loving this content.
-
"...the secret to stripping, my friends..." Katelyn looks straight at the camera, The Office style LOL I AM DEAD
-
the soap thing is more for metal when you are cutting it to make jewelry, you rub the jewelers saw along soap (or more commonly beeswax) then cut into the metal. Makes it much smoother and helps make cleaner cuts. Not ideal for wood, just metal.
-
Side note, that soap trick works well with needles. I used to place pins into a bar of soap. That way it would go through the fabric easier when embroidery or pinning pieces together to sew together.
-
The way Katelyn said “is it a personal massager” made me laugh so hard. 🤣
-
"oh c'mon it looked so easy in the video!" we've all been there, evan
-
the rubber band one is more geared towards screws you have partially stripped and are afraid of stripping further. Also the screws on wood is not a great test. Screws dont come out of wood as easy as they do household electronics, which is also what the rubber band trick is geared towards
-
Trying to purposely strip a screw. Evan: "I can't do it, I'm too good." Katelyn: Evil grin for the inevitability. "Here I can do it." Me: EVERY TIME I am dealing with SCREWS.
-
"Maybe you got a little over-ambitious with the stripping?" "Maybe I stripped too good" Hahaha, these lines are great out of context. XD
-
Evan: steamy, salty, and stripping Katelyn: 😐 ...... 😏
-
Since I’m a short DIY’er too: I would like to see you guys make a step or something for Katelyn. I often see steps hid away in footboards in the kitchen which you can pull out. Or the huge apothecary cabinets with the pull out steps (we have them in the Netherlands, I don’t know how common they are everywhere else).
