Dr Paul Mason clearly explains how doctors have been mislead to the detriment of their patients. If you have ever looked at the research on cholesterol and wondered why your doctor has gotten it so wrong, look no further.

Doctors have a method for admitting when they're wrong. Step 1.) They wait 100 years. Step 2.) They tell us, "Doctors were wrong 100 years ago."
  • I would much rather be treated by Paul's receptionist than a standard MD.

I love Dr Paul’s cholesterol explanations. My GP even watches the videos of his I send to her and she accepts the science is sound. She supports my keto/IF approach and conceded I don’t need medication as I’m demonstrating solid results. Thanks Dr Paul, keep up the good work!

  • I spent my career in the military and was always physically fit, I 100% believed what I was told that as long as you expended more calories than you consumed it didn't matter what you ate. I would have laughed at anyone who fasted or even recommended it, I would have thought they were an idiot. Then I turned 50 and no matter what I tried I just kept putting on weight, a lot of us just accept the middle age spread as inevitable but on my final medical in the military I tipped the scales at 102.5kgs. I hate to say it I was ashamed, I could still run etc but I just hated being 102.5kgs. So after watching a lot of these types of videos I thought what do you have to loose....apart from some weight. So I started the low carb high fat diet with intermittent fasting. I was doing 16/8 but also throwing in the occasional 18/6, 20/4 and then a full day fasting just to mix it up as some recommend. That was only 6 weeks ago and I am down 15kgs and feel so much better. I don't know where this takes me I just feel better than I did physically and mentally. I think my ideal weight in my head is 85kgs as I am quite muscular so I'm not sure what happens when I reach that weight. I do know I am so pissed off that we have been lied to for so long by governments and medical professionals in regards to our health. If you are thinking about it just give it a go, I am definitely considering a 5 day water only fast just to see what happens.

This is one of the most compelling videos I've ever watched on the high fat / low-carb diet. Excellent work, Dr. Mason. I sincerely mean that. Along with my wife, I started high fat / low-carb Keto two years ago, December 2019. No more than 20 total carbs per day. I also do IF on a 20 / 4 schedule, but sometimes 8 / 16. I'm 6'1" and have lost 69 pounds. My goal was to reach 188 lbs. I am currently at 186 lbs. Keto changed my life and my wife's life as well. We both look great and feel even better.
  • I was consistently arguing with my ex about this. She kept believing every word doctors said while I persisted we take control of our own health. This is truly the devil's playground... good luck figuring this out people

Doctors get all of their continuing education from pharmaceutical salesmen. The diabetes association and heart association get their funding from the food industry and the pharmaceutical industry and won't print anything that might jeopardize their "donations".
  • Having dumped the SAD nutritional approach, my fat loss over 27 months has exceeded 30 kg. Dr Paul's vids have enabled and reinforced this effort in the face of opposition from SAD advocates. Great stuff!
  • Excellent !!! Thank You so much for all your lifesaving videos on YT. Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪
  • Two years in a row, two sets of blood works, two times told I should consider statins. Twice I said why, my ratio of triglycerides to HDL was great and total cholesterol wasn't that high.
  • Thank you, Dr. Mason. No wonder I"m always battling doctors. I am hypothyroid and one put me on a statin over 20 years ago. After my own research, I dropped that like a hot potato. My cholesterol went up when my thyroid got super sluggish, direct correlation, which is why they put me on a statin. Now and for the last eight months or so, I eat a mostly ketogenic diet, two meals a day, extended fast period every day and have lost all the 50 lb gained pre-discovery of my rogue thyroid (had lost all but 15 lb before I went protein and almost no carbs), plus after breaking my leg and laying in bed and getting around in a wheelchair for over a month, I lost 9 more pounds and have a normal BMI. My holesterol on the low dose statin was 187. My recent test read 210 and not terrible on the LDL, good HDL, not a number I'm concerned about, knowing what I know now. My new physician, really a practical nurse, just said with diet and exercise not to let it go higher, BUT diet and exercise never affected it when I was trying to control it before they put me on a statin. I'm a very healthy 65 yr old woman living on a mini farm with my disabled veteran husband. We grow a lot of our own food, raise chickens for eggs and natural fertilizer, get lots of fresh mountain air and sunshine. My immune system is like iron, never had the flu that I recall, never got a flu shot. Doctors don't want to even recognize the importance of a strong immune system, in my experience. Had a doctor once literally call me pigheaded when I refused a shingles vaccine and said I would research it further. I'm done being bullied by doctors who only want to push statins and vaccines.

gosh! thank God i found you channel Dr Mason 👍. I'm little bit worried about my LDL and HDL going high after doing IF and the keto diet for 6 month (Now i got the answer 👌) #thankyouDrMason

Deference to experts (a fallacy known as reference to authority) has gotten us to where we are now.

I’ve been a type 1 diabetic since 1970. I was on atorvastatin for years when it was available only as full-price Lipitor here in the USA. Perhaps fortunately it seemed to have no effect on me whatsoever: lipid numbers didn’t change, no side-effects that I noticed. I haven’t been on any statin for over 20 years. I shocked an NHS doctor on a visit to England in 2018 when I went to a walk-in clinic for a minor injury: he was horrified because I wasn’t on any statin. I lied and said I’d get my doctor to prescribe one when I got home to Florida: he really seemed shaken to his core by my reckless way of life. Every endocrinologist I’ve had worships carbohydrates more than any religious person I’ve known worships God. It’s bizarre. I’ve never had good care from any endocrinologist or diabetes educator, ever.
  • I am a type one diabetic and my insulin requirements kept rising over the years till I was taking 450 to 500 units of insulin a day. I finally tried the keto diet and I lost 100 lbs in six months. I then ignored medical advice and continued with a low carb diet but a more reasonable diet for me and I have not gained any weight back in two years. My insulin requirements went down with the weight loss till I am now using 60 units of insulin a day and I may have to lower that as A1C was 6.0 again this last test. I also have bad reactions to statins and every time I see a Dr they want me to try taking them again. I have tried several different ones and have even given some a second chance but my new Dr suggests I try again. I have a 38% chance of having a heart attack (Dr estimate) within 10 years but I am stoked by my results I can tell you. I am 68 years old and a real person not a study.

As Sir Walter Scott (1808) wrote: ‘Oh what a tangled web we weave/When first we practice to deceive.’ An excellent presentation on an unfortunate subject -- deceit.

Evidence-based guidelines…what a concept! Thank you for speaking the truth and informing the world. We need more doctors like you.
  • You are a giant among men, Dr. Mason. Thank You for all you do.
