The Stra Wars sequel trilogy is divisive from beginning to end. It waffles from safe nostalgia to criticizing nostalgia, and tries to save itself with wild fan theories at the 11th hour. But what if...there was a plan fo the Star Wars sequel trilogy? What if the Force Awakens, Last Jedi and Somehow Palpatine Returned all told a unified, amazing soty? This is what we would have done with the sequel trilogy.

It’s actually a brilliant concept. The idea of a protagonist having an arc that’s not ‘forced’ or being a ‘Mary Sue’ would be amazing. Just a frustration that we had to see what was wrong before we can understand what’s right

I haven't rewatched the sequels since theatrical release. This version will exist as the sequels in my head now.

I wish that the next movie would have a scene where someone wakes Rey or any Star Wars character up from a dream/nightmare, and he/she replies that the whole sequel was just a dream... Therefore it never happened. They can have a fresh start with the sequel.

I really like the rewrite that Ryan envisions. The sequels need A LOT of help and Ray's background is so confusing. And Ben/Kylo deserved better. And Pow and Finn get pushed to the background as characters after being a huge part of The Force Awakens

you know what just came to me? i think it would've been cool if he actually survived the battle of exegol & went on to start a new jedi academy as penance for his actions (& in memory of luke)

Please do a full rewrite! I love people's takes on the trilogy, especially like yours where it works with the characters you've got but changes things to make more sense/flow better

I don’t think the problem with the sequels was that they went the wrong direction. The problem was they failed to go ANY direction. Finn being a former stormtrooper, Luke a broken cynical man, Rey and Kylo swapping stereotypes (a mentally weak villain struggling with the pull to the light side against a seemingly invincible hero), all of that could have been awesome if followed through.
