What has happened to Forza Horizon 5?

Mike Brown leaves and we start getting decent content 🤔🤔

I hope these updates continue to get progressively better, this is a step in the right direction

This is probably a bit extreme but maybe Microsoft looked at some player statistics and told or even threatened pg to get their act together

I don't mind if they brought old cars back from previous games and made them champion ship rewards. Once the update is over they are added to the autoshow while keeping brand new cars as playlist exclusive

I'll put my tinfoil hat and say a theory: The people that left PG were releasing underwhelming content on purpose so they could leave easier to make their own studio and, now that there's a new creative director, we should get better updates more often.

I think a bunch of the recent improvements were intended to come earlier but took longer to get right than expected, so I don't expect it to continue like this, but the community response, may trigger a change going forward 🤞

It’s crazy, 4 years ago, when Brown was hired, we thought he would be the saving grace for the series. Now he’s being blamed for destroying the whole franchise. I think him being at fault is somewhat true, and we may never see the full end of the story so, this might be the only evidence we can go of of. It’s just to coincidental that right after he leaves, the game is better now.

Honestly the biggest problem with Forza for the last few years is a huge lack of story. The first Horizon didn’t have the most amazing story but it was really good, to the point where I’ve replayed it several times. It’s fun to have actual characters that you get to race against. Being the “underdog” who races their way to the top is always a fun story. Starting with a crappy car but then eventually racing good enough to unlock faster cars. Which then leads me to my next problem with the series so far. In both 4 and 5 you can immediately get the fastest cars in the game, it’s super easy to make money, and there’s no sense of accomplishment. It’s why the game feels so hollow, and sadly no amount of new cars or map updates will fill that void.

Well Mike Brown said in the 10th anniversary Livestream that he wasn't in the studio since the beginning of fh4 development, so why was he even a creative director? If the team has no lead, team members aren't gonna care what they are putting out. Now that he is gone and the team members seem to have leadership they are getting things back on track.

My biggest problem with the game is, that it feels too empty. In FH4 for example you had like 40-90 other players all over the map in your session. In FH5, the game just loads in and out like 1-10 in your proximity. People just constantly pop in and out of existence, you can't really casually race others on the highway. And the change from one centralized Forzathon to many small ones also was a terrible idea that they haven't corrected till this day, for whatever reason. It's pretty much impossible to find other players for the Forzathon challenges, if you need the points for the shop, you're always on your own, which just really isn't fun.

For me it seemed like the environment seemed to evolve over the last update. Headlights of cars in a 360 burnout, looked way sharper. The way street lights look at night. Something has changed because it has a looked a a lot bette over the last month.

what changed, is that now they are done with the expansions, so now they focus on monthly updates alone

I've just seen a Toyota AE-86 chillin in an empty parking lot IRL, was so cool

Hopefully with the community's feedback and the new the crew 3 and solar crown coming out, it'll push them to keep doing better. The recent updates have really good so far.

Hey Eric, I just wanted to say that i love this channel! I’m happy that we have new cars coming that are going to hopefully be epic and the ten year update was awful… best source for Forza news

i have played very little FH5 in the past few months but since update 19 i really enjoy playing again... something has definitely changed for the better in FH5, hope they continue those good updates!

Hopefully new creative director is Ralph Fulton. Also for the new to Forza cars I wish we could get new Honda Civic, GR Yaris/Corolla, GR86 and AMG GT black series

The worst thing is that we need to speculate what’s gone wrong since pg is out of touch!

i've got a feeling now that Mike Brown has left we're gonna get better quality updates with even more highly requested cars
