  • OMG! Kim YuJin is 183cm tall and other players hardly can't reach her. She is gonna dominate the division for years to come. Congratulations to Kim for winning Paris Olympic gold medal. Looking forward to seeing her win many more to come.

Whoever turned this great martial art into leg fencing should be ashamed.

Total domination of Kim on all of her matches today. Impressive!

This isn't Tae Kwon Do (태권도) martial art that I grew up with. It's a shame that it is bastardises so much so that it is no longer a martial arts. It basically reduced down to two people doing chiken dance and try to make contact with their toes on the targeted zone. No hard contact to hurt the opponent is required, just a mere touch will suffice. Hence the weird looking kicks you see on this contest.

I love Taekwondo kicks but why is this match boring to watch?
  • Nice job Iran. And to all the women competing, awesome job! 👍😊

겨루기가 어쩌다 이렇게 됐는지...나 어릴때 배웠던 태권도 어디로갔나

Totally agree. I still remember a KO win by Moon in 2004 Olympics final. It was so fun to watch
  • @peteyca
    that entrance was pretty badass

I've been watching Olympic style TKD for years. I generally know the rules, but still have no idea why some techniques get points and others don't. I can't imagine the layman wanting to watch this at all.

If i just remove the expectation that I'll be watching a martial art when watching tkd these days, i can appreciate the sport a little more. It's a good game. But i don't want to do that. Tkd was supposed to be a martial art. Idk how WT can have pride in what they've done to it.
