Hey everyone! This will be my sixth amv, and I hope you guys like it! The anime, Redline, is one of the only racing anime out there, though its a movie so, unfortunately, it doesn't have a series. Redline took 7 years to make due to the over 100,000 hand drawn scenes in the movie, and was released 2010 with major critical acclaim. If you have time, please watch the movie, it's one of my favorites ever!

This movie was a miracle that should have not existed. The sheer amount of effort and investment put into this film was insane, way beyond what any sensible man would have dared to attempt for just one animated movie, and yet, here it is in all its glory.
  • And the best part is that this is just the opening of the movie - the actual race comes later.
  • This feels like a mix between JoJo, Mad Max, Hotwheels, Speed Racer, and Death Race. I love it.

2:06 The look on her face when the power kicked in, priceless.

Racing Movies like this are a lost art. Redline, Speed Racer... We need to bring them back
  • @browniieftw4180
Do not listen to this while driving, you will always go waaay over the speed limit. Trust me, I know.

Movie is a legit masterpiece and most of it was hand drawn. Would highly recommend watching

one of the best hand drawn anime or any anime movies of all time in my humble opinion
  • Looking at these vehicles from a realistic standpoint (which I know is probably isn't a good idea) the car with the most powerful engine is the protagonist's, because every other car is hyper aerodynamic and well-designed for speed. And the protagonist's has the aerodynamics of a brick, which means the only thing keeping him ahead in the race is the raw power the engine produces. And it's probably also why the car suffers spontaneous unscheduled disassembly at the end of the race.
  • fun fact: the fastest road legal car at time of writing, the Koenigsegg Agera in it's most powerful variation, has 1,341hp, beating the previous holder of the record, the Bugatti Veyron, with 1,001hp. the vehicle that holds the land speed record, the Thrust SSC, that reached a top speed of 1,228 Km/h - 763 mph - 341 metres per second - mach 1.02 (which, by the way, is fucking ludicrus) has 102,000hp. looking at how fast the cars in redline seem to move sometimes looking at the ground passing by (don't quote me on that, it's an estimation by eye and i may be biased as i want them to move that fast), i'd put them close to that. they don't seem to be breaking the sound barrier, it would be slightly slower but seemingly close. the 1000hp in the song is being out done en masse today and, as fucking awesome as the song is, is actually relativly unimpressive for extremes now-a days. The "'exaggerations" people seem to be putting in the comments are actually nothing in comparision to what the redline cars actually seem capable of. also, while i'm on the topic of ludicrusly fast shit and info dumping because this interests me alot, the fastest vehicle air breathing vehicle made, the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, a retired, miltary, long range reconnaissance aircraft, has 160,000hp and fucking shifted at mach 3.2 - 3,529 km/h - 2,193 mph - 980 metres per second (nearly a kilometre PER SECOND!). this is an aircraft who's evasive menuvers for basically anything was "go faster" and then did. also remember this is a vehicle designed and made in 1964; imagine what we could pull off now-a days.

This song and the race go so well together, it’s epic. Watched the movie before Christmas, and it’s even more hype. Easily best movie of the last decade. No exceptions.

"1000hp" Time to rewind Back to 1995 when we were nothing Walking through the streets of Boston no one listening No one caring about the empty rooms we played Until they all showed up one for one day Then we took the stage and everything changed Turn that shit up louder! Make it all go faster! Play it through the witching hour! Take it to one thousand horsepower! Under lights now Playing to the masses everything feels right Taking state by state by country over night Living in a shell entering every fight Seeing millions of people Rage When we take our stage, everybody scream Turn that shit up louder! Make it all go faster! Play it through the witching hour! Take it to one thousand horsepower! Yeah! Turn it up one more time Get it up get it up, and feel alive Turn it up turn it up one more time Get it up get it up, and feel alive Turn it up turn it up one more time Get it up get it up, and feel alive Turn it up turn it up one more time Get it up get it up, and feel alive! Yeah! Turn that shit up louder! Make it all go faster! Play it through the witching hour! Take it to one thousand horsepower! Turn that shit up louder! Make it all go faster! Playing through the witching hour! Take it to one thousand horsepower!
