Jedi Knights : " let's do supersonic speed in this episode and than never use it again "

That moment when you realize how close Qui Gon was to thwarting the sith

All these years and as many times I’ve seen this movie, I’m just realizing they used force Speed to get out of the way of the destroyers blasters 😂
  • Qui Gon: We Just Want To Negotiate Viceroy: You’ll get your negotiation when you fix this DAMN DOOR!!!
  • 0:45 The blaster shots that started 67 years of galactic war. Such a simple, yet series defining moment.

If only obi wan used this speed when catching up to qui gon

This melted my 11 year old brain at the time. I don’t care what anyone says, I love the prequels and ep 1 in particular.

The scene with Qui Gon twisting the Sabre into the door was good

I just love how terrified the Nemoidians of the Jedi. Really shows their legendary status at that point in time before they fell.
  • @SSJ3rocks
Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor had excellent on-screen chemistry together. Made you kinda wish they worked together in more movies.

A really awesome scene to establish how powerful the Jedi are.

This scene is so beautiful. By the first time we were able to see the real power of a Jedi and their amazing light saber.

1:16 "Check it out corparal. We'll cover you." "Rodger Rodger" "Uh-oh. Blast them."
  • 2:03 I love the detail of Qui-gon's lightsaber going through the first blast door while it closes off.

As a kid I watched 4, 5 and 6. When I saw this and the line "Have you ever encountered a jedi knight before?" Had me laughing.
  • @rstein926
Iconic how Qui Gonn and Kenobi have a green and blue lightsaber respectively because green is the colour of Northern Ireland where Liam Neeson is from and blue symbolises Scotland where Ewan Mcgregor is from

Episode 1 is more than episode 1 for me. Not only was it my first Star wars movie but it also happened hook itself to some of the better years of child hood. These scenes will always be soaked in nostalgia for the rest of my life.v
  • I love the amount of body language the Battle Droids have in that first encounter. All of the Red security droids are twitching and looking around nervously when the doors open, but the Gold officer droid is holding still and staring directly into the mist. They all tense up, ready to fire and lower themselves into fighting stances. Then they all ease up and stand up straight when the protocol droid exits. Then all take a step back when the lightsabers ignite. They then try to surround the jedi and close in to shoot inside of the jedi's reach to prevent their shots from getting reflected. It's attention to detail like that the really sells you on the idea of reality.
