Many years ago there was a interview with Shaq and he said this when the Kobe Bryant relationship was at its lowest. .. but of course they have since made up and Shaq loves Kobe to this day.

For those hating on Shaq for this, remember back in 2005 it was the other way around. People HATED Kobe in '05, he was vilified as a coach killer and locker room cancer for driving Phil Jackson and Shaq out of LA. Nobody denied Kobe's talent, but people at the time questioned Kobe's morals and personality

Y'all gotta remember, this was right after Kobe snitched on him being unfaithful to Shaunie O'Neal. I wouldn't be rocking with Kobe after that either

This is actually an incredibly rare clip. I haven't been able to find any part of that interview until this!

Love how so many act as they know first hand how this relationship was.

It’s funny what time does. People act like this never happened. Glad they both got past it though before Kobe’s untimely passing. It was good to see.

As a Lakers fan, I was so sick of Shaq at that time, but looking back, I can kind of understand why he was angry. Shaq flew out to Montana in 1999 to recruit Phil Jackson to be the new head coach. Shaq was MVP in 2000, and a 3x Finals MVP. The team imploded in 2004, Phil left for a year - and wrote critically about Kobe in his book - and then in 2005, Phil was right back with the Lakers. Obviously Shaq didn’t handle it very maturely, but I can understand why he was salty about it.

Finally got this clip. Shaq acted like he never seen Kobe in his life.

Well I’m glad they were able to sit down and talk things out.
  • They definitely had beef because they both had egos, people are talking about how kobe kicked out Shaq from LA, but he demanded a max contract after LA just gave him one, he also refused to a be a Robin to Kobe, mind you Kobe was a on rookie deal the entire time it would be wrong to not give Kobe his money. Shaq would later admit he should've just let Kobe be the man and it was clear Kobe was better than shaq after the trade. With that being said forcing everyone to have your work ethic while also being an asshole is also bad in its self

Shaq is trying hard to make us think it was all "business" about his beef with Kobe, trying to make us think he's some kind of marketing genius, bro we all know it was personal.

I liked both Kobe and Shaq but I believe if Shaq didn’t let himself go during the offseason and continued to train just like Kobe did in the offseason and at the same time not let their egos get the best of them the dynasty could of lasted longer. I believe those two things is a huge contributor of why the team imploded and even Phil Jackson got sick and tired of it.

No one was ever more hated and vilified and went from the most beloved and marketable player to the most hated while being boo'd the entire game in every arena outside of L.A. especially Denver and played through it all and dominated like no one since and somehow someway returned back to the absolute top of the mountain and won back to back and had those same crowds cheering for him. We know who you two faces are we don't forget in L.A. and at the end of the day Shaq and Kobe beat themselves but I understand both sides.

People forgetting that kobe got caught cheating and snitched on shaq like DLo did nick young 😂
  • @evanwilliams6406
"i'm sorry, who?" "I don't know who that is..." Kobe "No sorry I don't know anybody by that name"
  • @YvngGoat_
Stephen A been looking the same his whole life 😂😂😂😂😂
