5 Years of Full Time RVing: What We Expected vs What It's Really Like

On November 3, 2023 we celebrated our 5th Nomadiversary. That means that we have been living full-time in our RV for 5 years!
Back in 2018, we documented our journey to full time RV life on our channel, and we thought it would be fun today to look back at one of those videos to compare our expectations of what we thought fulltime RV life would be like vs what we have actually experienced during the past 5 years.
In this video, we share snippets of our 2018 video titled 10 Reasons Why We Are Becoming Full-Time RVers, and for each of the points we made in that video about what we were expecting from the full time rv lifestyle, we'll share our current thoughts on how those expectations have turned out for us during our 5 years of fulltime motorhome travel.
Is full-time RVing what we expected it to be? What have we learned about ourselves and RV life during the past 5 years of living on the road? And what have we encountered as part of our fulltime travel journey that we did not expect at all?

Well, you know, I had no idea you were both from Houston, you know? I was born in Texas, but lived, you know, all over the place before coming back to Houston in the late 80s. I guess, you know, we've been here long enough to say we are, you know... Houstonians again. Love the videos, but still trying to wrap my head over the "America" y'all! Absolutely get why, you changed the name, but kinda miss the old one! You know? Can't image living in, you know, a motorhome full time, but love the travel, love meeting people and having new and, you know, unique experiences! (You know... we saw the biggest ball of twine in Lebanon, KS!!!) Keep RVing all over, you know, America! Be seeing you... you know!

Hi Guys, Congratulations on the anniversary! We share the same observances as Y'all during our 3 years fulltiming. Tami and I will be celebrating our 46th wedding anniversary in Feb, we have never lead a typical traditional lifestyle, living in our hometown all our lives, working 30 years for the same company, paying off a mortgage etc. We were always moving, so it was a little easier for us transitioning to the fulltime RV lifestyle. Hey Tom, we don't miss all the crap we had either! Memories, Experiences, that is what its all about! Love you guys! Safe travels!

Your first trip to someplace is so you can plan your next visit. Stacey you need to visit the George Eastman Museum. I was there last June. Yes it is hard to explain but we are not full time, but when we are on a trip we are full time till we get back.
