DIRTY & WATER STAINED- Mid Century Walnut Coffee Table Refinish / Restoration
Published 2024-08-11
IN THIS VIDEO, I'm doing my best to bring this filthy and damaged coffee table back to life. I had a big boo-boo (ok, ok... I screwed up) towards the end of this restoration, but I did what I could to salvage it.

I always appreciate Angieās attention to detail, especially the most important, which is cleaning the furniture/decor item before repairing and restoring. The person that made the comment that they donāt like that part of the videos and that itās boring, completely forgot that they control their own computer/phone etc and can fast forward through those parts of the video to where itās more interesting for them.

Despite the minor mishap, you took from mud caked to birthday cake. Itās truly beautiful.

I suffer from anxiety and I always enjoy watching your videos. Iām 78. As a child Iād spend time at my grandfatherās who was a cabinet maker/ builder all things wood. He was Amish and my stepgrandfather. He had an enclosed room in his cellar where he kept wood and would let me choose some and make something to take home to my mother. In my era woodworking wasnāt a career for woman but watching you I know that was my calling. I love all things wood. I have my great grandmotherās furniture walnut dresser and washstand. Ironically my 3 sons have no interest at all. i have the little table my grandfather made as an apprentice? that is a mosaic of inlays. of different woods on too. Pretty funny when asked what Iām watching and I say furniture reruns.š

I've never seen you tackle a project that you didn't triumph in - this one is no exception! Looks amazing!
-
This piece turned out fabulous! Please, keep sharing the steps you take because there may be newbies who may not have even thought about a step until they saw you performing it. The more experienced folks can skip those parts they find tedious. Always be true to your gut feeling. Post what you want and what you think is necessary. This is your playground, we are simply allowed access to it. š

You Are Human After All. Fantastic Job ššššš

What I like about you, you admit that you made a mistake Angie, the table looks wonderful.
-
So great that new people learning from you see how one recovers from mishaps along the way. You're a talented teacher.
-
This looks exactly like the table I colored and played Legos on when I was a kid in the late 80s/early 90s.
-
Incredible job Angie! Saving this piece from the literal muck! The richness and depth of the grain is amazing. Oopsie's happen and you recovered very well. Awesome job as always!!
-
Even from afar I can hear that poor coffee table saying " Thank you so much Angie now I can finally breathe again!!!!"šāØš„°
-
I love when you do a coffee table... I feel like they really showcase your incredible skill and talent- my guess is they are deceptively difficult - there's just nowhere to hide! Great job as always.
-
I love the colors and the finish and everything about how this table came out. You are the best among my furniture refinish channels. Huge difference between what you do and what others do.
-
Oh wow, water and mud damage and remaking it in this beauty. I love walnut. Well done.
-
Love the richness of the final result. Itās beautiful.
-
Yep, you did it, again! Took it from close to ruin, to make it look absolutely fantastic! ā¤ā¤ā¤
-
The cleaning elements are a huge part of the process. People are funny.
-
I love watching you meticulously clean an old piece. So satisfying to watch the transformation. (And sooo much better than actually doing the cleaning myself!)
-
Lovely classy coffee table. Thank you for sharing the ups and downs of furniture refinishing.
-
I always quite enjoy the cleaning process. It is the first step in restoration, and important to show the promise a piece holds. And yeah, it takes some time but please: in this modern society where basically everything needs to be finished yesterday, can we slow down a bit? Take some time and effort to actually appreciate what we are doing? Angie, I love your work! You create beautiful things and I admire all the work you do, including the cleaning process!
