Lyrics:
Ladies, don't you long for love?
Be irresistible!
With the brighter, attractive beauty,
Everybody admires,
And soft hair that invites his caress
Attract! Arouse! Tantalise!
And draw from him a,
Hello, Beautiful!
He will follow you with his eyes,
That's the promise of the potion that I buy
I've been spending all my money to get mine,
Who will follow me with his eyes
All those girls in magazines,
They make it seem so simple,
Make me believe it
Help yourself to love
And White Rose Cold Cream
Then he'll follow you with his eyes
Lighter and brighter,
Longer and straighter it goes
(Follow me boy, look me over)
Leaner and smoother, softer and softer
I begin to count the cost
To get this mystery and, oh
I don't want to leave myself behind,
Vanishing into a girl that I don't recognize
So, if you want to run
To Sweet Georgia Brown, do
I'll be smouldering in my
Plum red lipstick
My black hair kinking
My black skin gleaming
My plum red lipstick
(x4) My Plum red lipstick
My black hair kinking
My black skin gleaming
My plum red lipstick

This is not only arguably the best record on Black Rainbows and my personal favorite on the album from the moment I first heard the album last August, but easily among the most beautifully graceful and empoweringly mesmerizing records you will ever hear. It is also records like this why Corinne Bailey Rae is among my favorite artists not only now, but ever and that I am so glad she did a video for it too. The video itself yet another beautifully glamorous, yet gracefully stunning work of art between her and director, Gregory Berg, who also did her last video, Peace Velvet Sky. That really lets Corinne give such an irresistibly beautifully stunning and mesmerizing performance of the record. That really puts on full display her beautifully soothing and heavenly stunning, as well as gracefully mesmerizing vocals and lyrics. To truly bring an already beautifully graceful and empoweringly mesmerizing record that much more to life. The video also giving me classic Harlem Renaissance vibes with a touch of other Jazz greats of yesteryear like the late great Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. While also showing why Corinne is one of the last real truly true to the core great artists, who truly almost always puts the art in artist. One of the other few still like that who is another one of my favorite artists being the beautifully great and talented Andra Day, who ironically portrayed Billie so beautifully and masterfully in, The United States vs. Billie Holiday.
