Chipps song: fight like a tiiiigeeeeerrr! Chipps playstyle: fight like a raccoon that stole half your cocaine and is coming for the rest of it. Chipp is the fastest character in the game and plays very offensively. You balance on a knifes edge and try not to get caught. Lore wise, he’s someone who has rolled with the punches and come back stronger. Going from drug dealer and addict, to finding something he’s passionate about and furthering a cause.
  • So happy to see this!!! To give a bit of background, Guilty Gear is basically a game series originally from the late 90's. The main Japanese guy behind it listened to a TON of different metal and rock genres from the west while he was growing up and loved it so much that even though the most recent game (as you guessed: Guilty Gear Strive) came out just a year ago but with music that sounds like it's out of the 80's. Every character has a theme that matches their gameplay and lyrics about them. In this case, Play the Hero is about Chipp. He's an American who learned to get past a crippling drug addiction from his Japanese master and now says he's Japanese (even though he's not). He's also the president of his kingdom in Africa (Guilty Gear lore is wild). But gameplay-wise he's the fastest character in the game but has the lowest health, so his theme is super fast and about taking risks and fighting hard, because if he doesn't he will be "wiped out".

Daisuke makes the game, the story, and the music for Guilty Gear. this is his baby and has been for decades. the ongoing joke is that this is a metal album that comes with a fighting game.

The little bass solo comes out of nowhere and hits you right in the face

Would love to see what you think of more Guilty Gear Strive tracks!
  • The vocals are definitely gonna be odd to some because it's Daisuke, a Japanese man, singing in a kind of Engrish. Which is why I always don't judge too harshly with the vocals. Especially cause like y'all said, after repeated listens, I just love them. Also Daisuke, the man behind the series, has an actual band. So it helps why its so good.

The Ooo when the bass went off had me dead😂
  • It may seem weird seeing the Ninja get this sort of theme. Don't worry, that's the former president of the United States XD

It's Fight like a tiger, walk in the "pyre" not "Walk in the park"
