Ja Morant has been great since coming back for the Grizzlies but recent comments have been concerning. His father went on a radio show and said things that make you wonder if Ja actually learned anything from the last 9 months. With that in mind, how many young players would you take over Ja Morant if starting a franchise today

Ja doesn't have a father anymore, instead he's a groupie/friend, that's the main problem, and they talked about how Lavar is in his son's lives and yet you never heard anything negative about Lonzo nor Melo and Melo being more close in age to Ja. The difference is that Lavar never changed he remained a father and Ja's father turned into a friend and left father out of the equation. Koodos to Lavar.

You know itā€™s bad when even JWill canā€™t fully defend you. Mad Dog was spot on in that segment.

I dont like Ja but im pretty sure he was talking about how everyone was saying Memphis is better without him last season.. . Hence why he has kept the receipts.
  • Maybe Ja just meant that he remembers everyone saying the season for the Grizzlies was lost and that he wouldn't be able to bring them back to playoff contention.
  • @nikolayjerev9285
He already said he is not sorry just before he played his first game after the 25 game suspension.
  • Ja's dad isnt his dad, that's one of his bestfriend's. Im not going to tell another person how to parent but Ja needs someone to put some greens on his plate and be straight with him.

How is there always something happening about Ja...

Something that nobody is mentioning is that during his suspension people started to question his basketball because of his suspension. Espn and the ringer had him ranked 35TH !!!! And others people were saying that brunson and haliburton are better than him a reporter even asked him what he thought of that. I think thatā€™s the receipts he is talking about. Plus donā€™t forget all the ja wick jokes on social media. Iā€™m not saying that he has learned and that he is completely changed but I think people are making conclusion way too quick. He didnā€™t call out the media or said that he got hoed or something. We donā€™t know what he meant by that. Maybe he didnā€™t learn or maybe he just wanted to remind people how good he is Weā€™re gonna have to wait and see how he act to know if he has changed
  • @Mvfasalways
I assume he was talking about how they kept underrating him
  • @justinbrown2199
People said his career was over and he's not gonna be good anymore. He was talking about all the people that were talking mess about his basketball abilities.
  • @jonaskick9225
They're not gonna suspend giddy bc of Chris Anderson. That situation back then blew up in their faces hard when it turned out Anderson didn't do anything. They have no choice but to sit and wait now now
  • @bweeebbb
When i saw the "i kept receipts" i didnā€™t thought anything of it aside from "he means he remembers everything said about the grizzlies" Edit: if i was Ja i would tell my dad to stfu because heā€™s really making the situation worse
  • People are misinterpreting what heā€™s saying. He definitely is talking about people who started talking bad about his play/position in the league whiles he was out.
  • Ja doesnā€™t want to come out and say, ā€œwe will make the playoffsā€ because he knows itā€™s highly unlikely. But he will wait until the season is over, and if they make it, I think he will explain this is what the ā€œreceiptsā€ were all about.
  • @Error-zg4po
Ja was 100% talking about how people were doubting his abilities as a player, this is a major stretch of a video
  • ā€œI kept receiptsā€ just refers to the people saying Jaā€™s career was over. Iā€™m as asympathetic to Jaā€™s situation as anyone, but this is overblown. Also the Giddey situation is just an accusation right now.
  • @bmorekid94
ā€œI kept receiptsā€ on the people who said his career was over or that he wouldnā€™t come back and do what heā€™s been doing in the court. Idk how somebody would get thatā€™s mean he saying he didnā€™t do anything or somebody wronged him.
  • @snowlattes0623
I donā€™t think Ja has changed completely but I also donā€™t think heā€™s dumb so heā€™ll play this right for how long who knows but I think heā€™ll keep it chill for a while to get the media off him
  • @DCIphanatic
He was talking about people (the media) saying that the Grizz were a better team without him when he was missing, ranking him 35th in the league after ranking him 9th the previous season, etc. Those are the kinds of receipts he was talking about almost certainly

Ja has ignorant parents. His father should know heā€™s not being punished for a crime, and his mother should not be calling her teenage son to settle her dispute. Their guidance is harmful.
