The fact there's a video on youtube with no dislikes and almost 2k views is evidence of how positive the community you've built here 🥰❤️

Wishing you strength and that the memories always remain to give you joy. True it is a blessing you mother and father were together those last two weeks, being by her side ❤ as they had been together a lifetime must have given both comfort. We are never ready to say goodbye to our parents.

No catalogues, I drop the seed ones off at the gym with my address scratched through. I did air out my house this afternoon. Writing this in March 2022 in Montana. All extra warm articles were donated at Christmas to the local homeless shelter. The fridge gets daily swipe outs, but a deep clean once a month. Anything that is not getting used in the pantry( actually just a Costco shelf in my tiny kitchen) is donated to the Food Bank. When I retired from teaching, my prof library went to the school and my department. I have 20 treasured books. I read online. I do not store under my sink and actually a light goes on when I open the door. I do keep the dishwasher tablets in a jar there but that is all. Children are long grown and gone, but I did check out my clothes since I dropped a size( not on purpose, just old). I will prob go down another size by the end of the summer. No office, just stamps and envelopes in a drawer. Any linens or bedding that are replaced have gone to the animal shelter. New pillows every spring and fall for me. Garden shed is good. When warmer, I will wash the screens and outside of the windows. I am a senior senior that does not want to leave a mess for my children. I have helped others with cleaning and organization but am long retired from that. Now I am giving and selling heavy furniture to reduce moving weight. I was using your program as a checklist, thank you very much!

Thanks, Gayle and Ed. I figure if you get the Christmas tree down before the Vernal Equinox you're doing ok.

Thank you as always, Gayle and Ed. You two always make me laugh and teach me something new. ☮️ to Ed.

My easiest solution was to grab cheap dollar tree baskets to add and group like things together in the fridge. Great news is that it makes for easier cleaning, virtually keeping each shelf from getting too sticky. Makes taking it out easier to remove items too. Vinyl placemats also work. They work great for lining the fridge or pantry.

My Mother used to buy daffodils for me every year. I think if her, with memories of this, when they appear in the store. We have daffodils in NH, and in February they sell them in grocery stores here, also, and they cheer us up in middle of our freezing winters..

Oooooh I have a suggestion for craft magazines as I did mine 5years ago. First I unsubscribed as ideas are now free in the internet and to stop the influx. Secondly I created a secret Pinterest board (magazines are copyrighted so they will be removed on a public board). I thumbed through quickly and snapped a photo on my phone straight onto my Pinterest board. I even sorted them by occasion (as I make cards) thinking I was being smart making it easier to find. But having done all that I can tell you, I have never looked at any of them because I go find new ones every time! Time to digitally declutter.

Sheets: I used to think I needed complete sets but now I just make bed using flat sheet on mattress (seem to always have extras) and use duvet cover for top, even without the insert. Of course keep pillow cases to use as well. Just remember to wash that cover periodically. Don't need to tuck the sheet unless you feel the urge for hospital corners! Also dryer likes flat sheet better, no giant ball of damp laundry getting trapped by elastic corners.

Even if you're not moving consider getting to more open space. It is a lot easier to clean when there is fewer pieces of furniture, bins, boxes to shift in order to get to the walls for cleaning purposes.

I'm sorry about your mom. I hope your whole family can find comfort in the memories you share.
  • I bought some 3X size heavy duty shrink bags for my winter blankets and throws. Since I have no travel plans for this year, I'll store them in my empty suitcase. They'll be out of sight and not using other storage places.

About keeping the maagzines. I used to tear out some sheets off magazines planning to use them for teaching. Turns out, none of this was ever any good, there's plenty of similar and better stuff online. Also, I'm a crafter too (dolly clothes) and I just collect all ideas on pinterest :) it is filled with it many craft ideas and you can create separate folders! :D
  • I took my tree down a while ago, but only just did all the decorations today. I was sick with COVID during the holidays and didn't get to enjoy them because I was self-isolating in the bedroom, so I left things up longer so I could enjoy them. Also, it took a while for me to get my strength back so I could work around the house.

Moving, eliminate the lower quality items and keep to use the best quality items. They will last longer, be more enjoyable to use and free up storage space. Learned this lesson when we found 4 different sets of steak knives stored. Win-Win-Win
