Nightmare day at the pitch, when a customer turns up who bought a Mini 8 months ago and is not happy at all!

Another entertaining rollercoaster ride with you guys! Feel better about the £10k scare after hearing it all. Hope the mini customer sorts out his timing chain issue. Maybe you can offer him a discount on a Renault Scenic since they seem to be reliable and cheap to run! Those MPVs are making a comeback in my book!

and the nuns said to the vicar- we've never come this way before and the vicar replied- that'll be the cobblestones.
  • Your mini story reminded me of a mini story years ago, sold an 05 plate (10 years ago) put a new head on it, stuff like that, day 2 it was back with a noisy power steering pump, few mths later back with a miss fire, he'd had plug, coil pac, I knew St away it was number 2 exhaust valve burning out, guy was going nuts, big Garage bill for coil pac, anyway like you I stuck him out, it was mths down the line, I don't buy minis any more, at all.

I'm genuinely starting to think that finance sales are just not worth it. The finance companies know it's not the dealers responsibility but they try to throw their weight around. It's really not worth it!

Love these vids. Keep them coming 👍Is it just me, or does anyone else keep expecting David Brent fiddling with his tie to pop up in one these vids? 😂

Don’t send money unless it’s a auction or bank you’ve dealt with. If you’re collecting it do the transaction at the point of purchase so If you can’t take it away you know instantly it’s dodgy . Cheers Boyz 👍

love the steam train, it looks faster than the Renault Scenic
  • Great content guys, thinking of starting up myself, been at a vw main dealer now 14 years. Your vids are definitely helping me prepare 💪🏻
  • If its that bmw 1.6 diesel it's standard on those, engine will be junk, 2nd hand engine is like 2k,i don't buy them with that engine, I've heard them rattling at 60k,at 90k onwards there ready to blow, I've had em with absolutely full history and they've still gone.

I hate that people think they can spend a fraction of the new cost of a car and get the same warranty as they would buying it from new. You can't have it both ways, you're taking a risk and sometimes you get unlucky, but to blame someone else isn't on.

By law, given how long its been, it is down to the customer to prove that there wasn't a fault with the engine at the time of sale. It's not your responsibility to prove anything as its now 8 months later, and at this stage, you're no longer required to show what was carried out as part of your prep unless it's a safety issue. These finance companies are not above the law and bully dealers into admitting liability. The customer has owned the car for 8 months and you've been very reasonable carrying out works after the sale. I would stand firm with this one and go all the way. Best of luck.

I’d never buy a mini off anyone but I do think you’re way too kind and decent I’d not offer anything to the customer as it’s been used for a long period some customers unfortunately buy the wrong car off a decent honest garage then you get the headache, thank for sharing buddy I hope it goes well for you 👊👌🚘
