Now, when I ask most of my patients if they have a high salt diet, they usually say, "No, I hardly even add salt to my food." Truly appreciate this type of content because for the most part physicians don’t explain this type of important information in details to patients. This is really helpful and thank you for this valuable information.

Dr Frita, I had been a nurse for 40 years and I can tell everyone that you are "Best Patient Teacher". I don't know you personally. Your videos are informative and very easy to understand by patients because you don't use medical terminology. May God guide you continue to share your gifts with the people that benefits and improve theirs health and even potentially prevent Renal Failure. Blessings

I've noticed over time that alot of vegetarian food options whether it was at a vegetarian restaurant or vegetarian grocery foods were either extremely high or somewhat higher in sodium. So although it might be meatless the sodium content makes it off limits for those with hbp. Keep that in mind.
  • Many thanks Dr Frita, I started reducing salt six months back, consuming natura foods only, plus at least 2 litres of water per day, less carbs intake, less meals per day, various exercises, 18/6 fasting , no processed foods, sugar, alcohol, soda and processed juices . My blood pressure is coming down from 220/100 to 150/ 87, body weight dropped from 98 kilograms to 76, cases to bathroom at night dropped from 8 to 2 trips. At my age of 67 years, my height of 1.94 metres I feel and I will continue with my life style to keep my health.

NEVER in my life been told I'm unhealthy UNTIL a recent visit to doctor. Told I was "heading" towards hypertension. I exercise, rarely used salt/sugar, rarely fast food and mainly cook at home. I'm 5'5 at 129. It scared me. Found out salt is in everything...even water which I drink a lot of...now I dilute my water and read every label. I definitely am salt and sugar sensitive. Thanks for your info
  • Hi Doctor, you are doing a great job of enlightening the public health wise and I appreciate all you are doing. Keep it up.
  • Thank you Dr. Frita - because I have HBP and I'm doing everything possible to make that change.

A big thank you from Hong Kong. This video is most helpful. In particular, I like how you highlight the reality that notwithstanding packaged foods often label itself as vegan or low calorie, one still needs to be aware of the sodium content. I fully agree, as often we overlook the sodium content. Thanks again.

  • Thank you so much for this, just yesterday I went to the doctor and they made it clear that I have high blood pressure. It runs in my family on my mother and father's side. I started having headaches this past Monday and it got worse yesterday and I had to go to the hospital. This was a wake up call and I'm only 25 years old. Have to start taking care of myself now better hope you'll make more videos on this topic. ❤️
