Issue with my brand new Asus laptop.

I am having the same issue on battery mode on my G16. Glad to know it’s not just me having this problem. It’s not too bad so I’m just gonna ignore it, as long as the functionality of the device isn’t affected.

Another thing that's ridiculous is the amount of commercial spam you get from ASUS, like you can be presenting a meeting and suddenly get a popup that "ASUS recommends" that you buy mcAfee AntiVirus, A 5600$ laptop should not have to come with commercial spam

Thank you for sharing, it was my main choice for a new laptop because of great cooling system, but I cant justify payng that much and listening to those sounds.

This issue occurred with my older Asus X450J, and in 2015 I had to have it replaced at the ASUS official repair center for free while it was still under warranty. The process took about a month and the laptop still lasts until today. However, I haven't experienced this problem with my ROG Zephyrus G14 GA401QH which runs buttery smooth until to date. So what I recommend is replacing it whilst still under warranty.

Coil whine. It is a software problem. My G16 614JZ made in January 2024 does have it, but very very silent. I had this on my desktop with the Intel ARC A770LE after an driver/BIOS update, but it went away with the next update and never returned. Was quite prominent, I almost thought that something went really wrong with the update. Some people even reported that they returned the GPU.

This has gone on too long with Asus. People like me are super sensitive to coil whine. I could forgive coil whine from a power brick but this is ridiculous. I have owned 6 dell/alienware and have never had coil whine from my laptops. Asus just doesn't seem to care.

I have the nebula hdr model with the 4080, and i don't get any such noise on mine, it's very silent untill 5k rpm on the fans.

strix g16 (2023) owner here, i never had this problem so far. only thing is that i had 2 dead pixels after 5 days of ownership

Hello My laptop is Asus rog g18. It is very expebsive. I9 4070 rtx. But İ hear like theese sound. İ bought and pass onnly 1 week. What do you think, must I change it or send back? And for only this problem, wil asus change it?

Mine stopped after the bios update, so just check if all your drivers,bios and windows are up to date

Is this coil whine in battery mode? My g18 makes same noise even on battery.
