Hi Brian! I have just finished my interview with the Fulbright board. I was so nervous and my answers were not very good. The interview was about 6 minutes through Skype. The connection was not good, either. I had a bad day.
  • Hello, Brian.Could you please correct me if I am wrong. You seem to recommend mentioning the actual people that an applicants know in the host country and name a certain school. But doesn't the essay go to a few different schools on the last step of the selection process and the schools actually pick the applicants?I'm trying to say that if school A gets an essay and sees names of the professors from school B, then school A is definitely going to turn that applicant down, isn't it? Thanks

  • I tried a few years ago and didn't get through. The thing is I'm not sure how getting a mfa in the performing arts would benefit my country especially when I am not interested in teaching but simply performing. Most people don't understand my perspective on this but maybe you can assist. So how can an artist write a powerful essay without seeming a bit selfish or self absorbed. Thanks

  • For those who are looking for editing help, I realize that this is Fulbright season. I look at many essays this time of the year as a way to encourage people to apply. I have spent countless hours on the phone, texting, and emailing with Fulbright applicants. My email is the following: studyteachabroad@gmail.com/ Please realize this is something I do to help out, so it may take me a day or two to respond. Good luck! Brian
  • I think your explanation is very good and on-point, but your video is too short. I was hoping it could be longer and more comprehensive. You hit all the good points.
