So, what in the Hell do y'all expect??? That subdivision was built in the old Celery Fields!!! Back in there is where it flooded all the time back in the day. You let Sarasota county commissioners vote to keep on building, and this is what you get! You need to make them vote for a moratorium. The commissioners are mostly building contractors and business people, they're in it for the money and don't give a Rat's Ass about you and your home . They have an agenda and they are hurting you.
-
Developers & commissioners should be held accountable for their negligence in not having a system in place to mitigate excess water.

Unless you can self-insure, there’s Zero reason to own a home in Florida.

The husband sitting on the bed looking helpless. I feel your pain

They need to hire a forensic civil engineer and get to the truth because they will never get it otherwise.
-
Florida greed is unmatched.

They’ll never know & they’ll never be transparent

Millions not 100 thousand

Ian brought just at much rain and it didn't flood. The county messed something up with the drainage.

I bet those HOA fees and property taxes won't stop just because you lost everything! What's that tell you!?
-
Prayers for the neighborhood and may they get get help and resolution. 🙏

Trouble is its only August with possibly more to come.

Sarasota county commissioners allow developments everywhere. They favor developers over the residents

Trust me. Nobody really cares until everyone does.

People were not meant to live in a swamp

They did work on the east side of Loraine rd, big pipes that were not completed. That same time everyone in thar area and near the creek where forced to get flood insurance. Then it Debbie hits the area with work not fully completed.

These folks choose to live there. Why everyone blaming the builders, the county, the state 🤷♀️ ? Don’t anyone take accountability for themselves anymore ? By the way - the entire State of Florida is a flood zone. Watched several videos of folks in this area & not one was thankful to be alive - they all are worried about their progressions 🤔 I don’t wish this on anyone but - I feel for retirees - they don’t have years ahead of them to start over.

Many Floridians are mopping up and being wiped out. The State's insurance company, Citizens, has adjusters out in force for those who did have flood insurance with months of waiting for their cheques. For those who did not have flood insurance, they are facing months of reconstruction and refurnishing at great expense, with the real estate market listings growing rapidly. The 2024 storm outlook called for between 17 and 25 named storms to form, with 8-13 becoming hurricanes with winds of at least 74 mph and 4-7 of those becoming major hurricanes with winds of at least 111 mph. This forecast includes the Pacific & Hawaii, but those storms are less frequent with vastly more ocean. Living in Florida has always been a bit of a luck endeavor. It's truly sad and people's lives are being completely upended with prospects of a complete starting over, perhaps leaving altogether. I grew up in Miami. It's a magical place, Florida but not always good magic.

Step 1 - get a dumpster placed on your driveway and fill it with waterlogged stuff.

A pump? Where the hell are the storm inlets and drain pipes? Were they not installed? Looks like a class action coming against the developer, and whoever issued the permits to allow this development to be built!
