Hey Guys! I hope you enjoy this video. Comment down below some independent artists I didn’t mention & some I should check out👀
  • @imnotlelo
Im honestly here for the downfall of labels, or at least labels eventually understanding the value of their artists

you can really tell tinashe WAS on a tightrope when she was still under RCA. and i am so thankful she is independent now like her music felt her own.
  • Tinashe going independent is the best thing she has done. I mean, we got the best material from her thus far. Songs for You has aged like wine. Same goes for Megan. Happy for her new album!

Omg love that you mentioned Raye shes been doing incredible ever since she left her label and i couldn't be more happier for her getting her flowers!

A very good example for this is: KESHA! Kesha is thee woman who got screwed over by their label, Dr. L**e, SO MUCH, and here in 2024 she's now going independent and we shall see how she does! This is a very interesting topic and this independent era will 100% give us authentic art, right out of the artist's brain, not edited to be pallettable neceserally.

And Prince couldn’t even use his name for years, remember how he used that symbol for a name.
  • @jethroreueluy
and yes — the art that tinashe wants to portray is now more recognizable since she has the creative freedom stream #nasty btw

Artists should take a page out of the Punk Rock book. The labels can help but artists have the ability to do it themselves and keep more of your independence

Not a Pop artist, but Brent Faiyaz is doing a good job in the Independent R&B atmosphere. He has a distribution deal, and has been consistent these past few years.

i think there aren’t enough examples of independent artist making it work for us to have a definitive answer to the question: is going independent better than going through a label? but tinashe is showing us it can be possible, but is it profitable and more importantly, is it sustainable?
  • @richkid9818
Glad ppl are learning they have the opportunity to do it themselves.
  • @harrykey6016
How have I just found out both Hayley Kiyoko and Tinashe were in a girl group
  • @KhaosChilde97
I just watched a video about Rihannas music career. She was half independent. Footing the bills with either her own money or money from deals she made outside the label.
  • @Obbee
Robyn is also a good example of a successful independent artist when she released Dancing On My Own and became a staple in dance pop music I’m sure she’s getting all her coin 100% from that song..and when Calum Scott did a cover of her song and become a hit I’m sure she’s also getting some money off of his song too. Oh yeah and the beat from Charlie XCX song from the Barbie movie also came from Robyn. the Money is definitely Moneying if you are a independent artist.

All of these people though have HAD a label at some point in time though. To an extent I think being a part of a label has given them the knowledge and experience to be able to go independent. Not saying I think a label IS necessary just pointing that out

Songs for you has to be one of the best albums of all time. In my opinion.
