Nice find of it still in its mail order box! I'm also amazed at how clean the body sheels are I believe the handrails were optional parts that you had to fit yourself, as I tend to see more Tyco locomotives without them than any other brand (except Athearn, which most of their locos were kits until the 90s)

Super. My railroad still has two almost fifty year old Mantua/Tyco EMD GP-20 (MU-2 + Powertorque) locomotives and one Tyco Baldwin RF-16 Sharknose (Powertorque) in daily operation. I bought one GP-20 with the MU-2 drive, for operation, and one with the Powertorque drive, for kitbashing. I wanted a Baldwin BP-20 passenger (C-C) Sharknose, and I also wanted an Alco Trucked EMD GP-20. Two new wheelsets and a pair of "C" sideframes later, I ended up with a 12 wheel drive, dual motored Baldwin RF-16 Sharknose, (Almost a BP-20) a powered EMD GP-20, and an Alco trucked EMD GP-20 dummy. The GP-20s got dynamic brakes from a Lionel GP-9, which fit perfectly, (NYC had the only GP-20s without dynamic brakes.) extra details and window glass, (Scotch tape, try it next time you operate on a caboose or locomotive. Stick a piece on the inside of your streamlined caboose window openings, and it looks much more realistic.) extra weight, and constant lighting, and operate great both inside and outside, plus the Burlington paint has a nice patina on it now that makes the locomotives look very realistic. I also operate the Shark, possibly the last Powertorque drive unit still in daily operation in the world. I usually assign an F-7B dummy to the Shark, and put them in charge of pulling a commuter train or local freight. Hello from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. 💙 T.E.N.

Thank you for focusing more on regular trains, nothing against Thomas and friends.

this is so freaky i just bought one of those locos last week. mine has the handrails in full not one is broke. i have since taken them off very carefully for safe keeping. yours is in better shape than mine though paint wise.

i'm guessing the BNSF and Santa Fe tyco sets didn't come with the Penn salt tankers. Perhaps Lifelike didn't care about matching the regions of rolling stock to the locomotive
