  • Unlike most of these people, I had no idea this was out and happened to stumble across it now and I can accurately say that this is the best thing that happened to me all week (now we have an effective argument for those "but the portal fandom is dead" people)
  • @arir43
Chell’s voice is spot on. Thanks for that.
  • This was a triumph, I'm making a note here; "Huge success". Also that Wheatley impression was spot on.
  • @TomahawkFL
I love how you can never make fun of a Portal fan film because Cave Johnson introduced the multiverse. Anyway, this was great.

One thing I love is how Portal 2's broken down GLaDoS is the design everyone thinks of instead of her old Portal 1 design. Let's be honest though, 2 looks wayyyyyy cooler
  • as a portal fan, this was beyond incredible. you guys deserve an Oscar

Let me just say everything I love about this short fan film (SPOILER WARNING): -I love the premise. Basically Aperture descends into chaos after they lost governmental contracts to Black Mesa. -The dark, gloomy atmosphere. It fits the tone of the short film perfectly. -The mind-blowing animation. I didn't expect such Hollywood-level animation from a short film. Absolutely blew my mind. -The voice acting. The voice actors did an amazing job, especially whoever voiced Wheatley, that was just a perfect impression. -The lore of the film. Basically takes the lore from the game, and adds so much more to it. Chell being designed for these tests, Wheatley originally used as one of GLaDOS's cores (which was briefly explained in Portal 2), the portal gun becoming dangerous, GLaDOS killing the scientists, and a lot of other stuff. I didn't expect this much lore, but it was so worth it in the end. -The music. The music was absolutely incredibly for this short fan film. The music adds a sort of immersion to the film. And that rendition of "Want You Gone" was absolutely beautiful. I espeically loved the little nod to the Portal song "Still Alive" at the end of the song, the song that was used in the first Portal game during the credits sequence. -The ending. The ending was nuts and I loved it. We actually got to see Gordon Freeman as he walked around a pretty empty wasteland. -Some of the special effects. Some of the special effects were absolutely mind-blowing. I really didn't expect such amazing special effects from a non-profit fan film of this magnitude.
  • This take on Portal is quite unique! GLaDOS as a previously abandoned project picked up by a new character is very different and I really like it. Doug’s characterization was well done as well. I also liked the scene referencing Half Life. That was really neat! The editing and cgi is impressive for a non-profit work. It gives a 1990’s to early 2000’s movie vibe. Overall, this was a great fan-film and I was glad to see it in my recommendations.

WE NEED A FULL VERSION OF THAT BEAUTIFUL COVER OF "WANT YOU GONE" WE ABSOLUTELY NEED IT
  • @DoctorIronic
I dont know why this got recommended to me as i rarely watch portal or fan film content but holy shit this channel is underrated
  • @calliestudios
First off, this is amazing, really well done, and has not near enough recognition Second off 12:58 *BONK Third off: whoever played Chell did a spot on impression
  • Apart from a few inaccuracies [which to be fair this had to be condensed to 27 minutes] This is a great work of art the half life references and 'want you gone' cover is BEAUTIFUL Also the bonus scene in space Truly a work of art to behold
  • @IAmSuccubunny
Legit a great film. Interesting takes on the lore and a wonderful little treat. Thank you for this.
  • @_Pickle_Cat_
This is a really well done AU. Good job. Can’t wait for the sequel!
  • @wise89
As a diehard portal fan, I apsolutly love this. The tone, the voice active, the atmosphere. It was all perfect.
  • An absolute masterpiece, Mr. Glickman! You've outdone yourself this time! Thank you so much for having me on board with this! Until our next project together! :D Much love, Mr. Freeman x

Man... Just... Wow... This makes me want to see a 2 hour film of portal so bad!!
  • @AG_Speaks
It's actually very amazing how you could replicate Portal and Half life's universe and how you managed to still turn this into a cohesive story. I give props to the entire team that worked on this!

Great CGI work, and an interesting take on the events before Portal started. Also, that shot at 20:08 was really cool.
