Fun fact about SCP-001: No one actually knows what it is. There are many renditions, supposedly all fakes to hide the nature of the true SCP. In this particular case, our fake SCP-001 uses the sun's radiation to turn everyone into sentient goo. Fun, huh?

The only problem I have with this scenario is that the SCP-001 “When Day Breaks” proposal states that “at no point do affected individuals die”

Not sure why but this scenario terrifies me. Learned about it and for MONTHS I would remember it existed and would try walking in shadows. I’m not as paranoid now but every once in a while I’ll avoid the sun when walking outside, even though I know I have nothing to worry about.

I love how SCP-001 doesn't even have anything to do with heat. The sun just enters an anomalous stage. It's all about the light, not the heat.

This SCP has to be one of the most terrifying I have ever read over. We wouldn’t even know if other stars also were affected by whatever corruption came over the lift spectrum.
