That person was the same person that decided to name this a "Forgotten Mix", since "Lost to Darkness" is a "Remembrance Mix".     Lost My Mind: Sonic was trapped in his mind looking for a way out, Xain appeared to stop Sonic, song ends, struggle continues. Lost to Darkness: Xain was mere seconds from besting Sonic, but the Blue Blur remembers his friends and how they wouldn’t have wanted him to give up. This gives Sonic a reason to keep going and beat Xain. Out Of Their Minds: After hours fighting Xain, Sonic began losing hope. Is all of this worth it? Will I even have a home to go back to? Sonic began accepting his situation. His friends were gone, they weren’t coming back. Sonic finally succumbs to Xain. He let his friends down…

    I like how Sonic doesn't immediately succumb to Xain after his lines. Sonic knows his friends are probably gone, and that there is no point in trying to save them now. But he still fights for a bit because of the hero inside of him, the hero he was meant to be, telling him to not give up. Though a bigger part of Sonic wants to be done with fighting Xain, his pain to end and be free of it, so he eventually gives in. The hero inside of him fading out like a bright flame.

    How the hell is this so underrated, it has an amazing twist compared to lost to darkness, a sense of reality than a happy ending, of course, I would rather think of this as a bad ending if you didn’t get enough of whatever you needed in the song, or previous songs beforehand
