Forced to Sell My 2023 C8 Z06… let me explain

As a car hoarder myself I can say you made the right decision. Take your favorite photo of it and blow it up poster size and hang it in your new shop as a reminder that without the sale of that car you wouldn't have a shop of your own :). There are a lot of cars I miss but I don't regret selling them because the sale allowed me to do so many other things I wouldn't have been able to do otherwise.

It would be hilarious if Dean bought it and offered you a ride.

Put a contingency on the sell of it where if the new owner decides to sell it they will reach back out to you first

I think that you are making the right decision. Owning a shop will be the best thing for your business/channel. I totally understand how you are feeling, having cars myself it would be hard to get ride of my pride and joys. Look to the future something better will come along.

Let’s be honest here. This is a perfect business opportunity that you will greatly capitalize on. Chevy hooked you up with a great car and business is business. Cash is king and you will have many more special cars come your way in the near future.

From my perspective, I think any of the new C8 Corvettes are fantastic because of the drivetrain change. That makes it a historic, significant thing. Especially since Chevrolet executed it so well. And that being the performance version that it is, it pumps it up even further. And then, it's #28. This is a car you should keep. That's my opinion. What might it sell for in 10, 15, or 20 years?

I feel ya Emelia but it might bring forth more fruition down the road! Really proud of all the decisions you've made to get at the level you are at right now.

Bigger and better things. You've come so far in no small part due to Corvette. But you deserve a shop to call home. You won't regret this in the end, good luck!

The M3 was my first car and it was exactly like that one black with tan interior i remember i learned to drift in it by flying into this huge culdesac and yanking the e brake getting it sliding then dumping the clutch spinning around. I could drift like a pro by 15 before fast and furious Tokyo drift ever came out.... Such great memories... 😢 I eventually clipped loose gravels at 75 in a curve and flipped it knocked motor back into firewall it was totaled... Get it, so much fun..

It was the right choice and itll fund your channel/projects/shop and once they release a even higher hp version of the corvette they will be cheaper and you can scoop one up or get the new whip.

I’ve been in your position. It’s the right decision. I had a 1 of 1 1970 Dodge Coronet R/T. I hit one issue after another while restoring it. My dads health took a turn that forced him to retire. We lost our shop (my dad was a true artist when it comes to body work and paint work). My next step was to send the car to a well known shop that strictly restored Mopar muscle cars. One month before sending it out, I had a stroke at 29. The car sat in pieces in my garage for ten years. I fought to keep the dream alive but in the end I sold it to a collector. It took me a while to realize that it was the best decision I could make. Someone else is now enjoying that car and I was able to move on and do other things. Your shop is your livelihood and your way of being creative and enjoying what you do. Cars come and go, but being happy with what you do will last a lifetime.

Let me start by saying I love everything you do you are proof that you can come from nothing to having a amazing life doing what you love with hard work and not giving up now the car I really think that’s something you should hold on to for a few years because it’s only going to go up on value because of the low ven and color but no matter what you decide I know you will do amazing things in the future

I have been in this situation where I had to sell off some cars in my collection. While the decision was painful at the time, ultimately it was the right thing. Plus it gives you the opportunity to replace it with something else on the automotive bucket list down the road.

Keep...for sure. Color, package combo (and #28 on top of that) are an amazing combo! And if he said they are going for up to 100k over sticker right now, what will it go for in the future??? There is always a way to get your shop when there is a will. Remember back to your beginnings, when you started working out of your garage....then got your first garage... That will, and passion for what you do, is what got you there. Get there again! C-Ya soon...

@@EmeliaHartford As much as I am sad to see you sell the Z06, I am glad to follow the ups and downs of the journey. To be selected as a spokesperson speaks volumes on all the hard work, heart, soul, and dedication into the mods and rebuilds.

I can't imagine Chevy being too happy with you flipping the car.

Sell it, sad to see it go but will love the content of a new shop and you making it your own.

I think you made the correct choice. Shop is the number one priority... There are many, many cool and interesting cars out there but to make any of this work you must have a shop space.

Once you have a steady base to work from with none to little stresses about moving again. I'm sure your decision will seem a bit more palatable. Location, location location and the smiles become permanent... Best of luck Amelia
