step by step:
1- Subscribe and like my videos ^_^
2- Create a Plane with 1*1 segments.
3- Create a copy as "Reference."
4- Apply (TurboSmooth) on the copy, and leave it!
5- Apply (Edit Poly) on the main plane.
6- To start, pick (edge) and use the (shift) to drag new segments.
7- Note: Every curve needs 3 edges to play with and to keep it a clean one!
8- Now you're done, adjust the edges heights as you like.
9- Don't forget to like my video ^_^
10- Now you can add some extra segments and play more with the curve.
11- Whenever you are done, copy the curve.
12- Now, start detailing (openings, light lines, etc...)
13- Important note:::
Apply a new (Edit Poly) for each adit you want to make in case you
want to go back at some point!
THAT'S IT, Great job !!
Go ahead and create your own parametric model
I hope it was a simple and helpful tutorial ^_^

love the very clear step by step. As a beginner 3ds max user who learn modeling on youtube by myself (and not good at English), my basic knowledge about 3ds max is a big missing, and those tips you added in the video helped me a lot, thanks!

Beautiful result! But, (a) you don't need the reference object. You can apply the TurboSmooth, use Edit Poly below it, and accompany all the shape development using the Show End Result On/Off Toggle, on the base of the modifier list window and/or the Show Cage, on the Edit Poly. (b) When you insert the Edit Poly, you lost the parametricity. In parametric modeling, you can change the parameters at any moment, but in this modeling, you can't, for example, change the number of plane segments.
