The Halal Taco Truck Uniting Muslim and Latino Communities

Motivated by her own experiences with prejudice as the first hijab-wearing woman to work in public office in conservative Orange County, Rida was determined to create a movement that would bring marginalized communities together to cultivate unity and understanding.
#TacoTrucksAtEveryMosque creates a safe haven where "breaking bread by tortilla" becomes a celebration of shared values among communities. The tacos serve as a savory platform for educating communities, dispelling stereotypes about Muslim and Latino communities, and fostering resilient, empathetic connections between these often-misunderstood cultures.

"Halal Tacos. Bringing the best of two communities together, and putting it on a tortilla."
-
I think this is really really cool with everything going on in the world today, I'm not religious in any way shape or form but I hope all the Muslim people watching this video are enjoying Ramadan
-
Amazing, people feeding people, bringing cultures together through food. I wish everyone could be so open minded.
-
Bringing people together, rather than dividing them. đđđ

Perfect! There is a long tradition of Middle Eastern and Mexican intersection. Al pastor comes from Lebanese refugees coming to Mexico city, bringing vertical spit cooking to Mexican cuisine. The mexicans swapped lamb for pork... but kept the name of the lamb dish and boom... classic.

We need Halal taco trucks in Philly!

This women had a brilliant idea and sounds like a wonderful person. Long may it continue bringing marginalised communities together under the banner of good food and good times, TOGETHER.
