  • Pretty amazing to think that this guy was the figurehead of the aussie muscle car bogan boy racer Holden loving king of the mountain. Yet so thoughtful. So sincere. So honest. So self reflective. So self aware. So humble. So kind...................... such a great australian sporting hero and so multi dimensional. A quality that seems to be sorely lacking in today's breed. Kudos to Denton also for this wonderful interview and for being the best listener in the country and taking his viewers on the journey with him......... RIP Brocky.................... A national icon

Gone ,but in no way forgotten, an Australian to respect and look up to ,and we had every bit of that respect in New Zealand as well .❤

The best interviewer by far. Thank you Andrew Denton, and RIP Peter Brock.
  • Peter brock will NEVER be dead in the hearts and minds of true Australian motorsports fans. As a 14 yo I watched him beat Alan Moffat in his a9x torana and from that moment I knew I had to have a torana v8. When I turned 18 I brought an ss manual v8 hatch, fitted flairs drop tank and Hotwire mags. My whole family has been Holden through and through. My brother in law had an a9x four door, torana xu1 hz 308 sandman and many more. At last count I’ve owned 11 cars and it’s all because of the love of them that this man instilled in me. I may peter at a Mobil service station around 2003, he was driving the Monaro that was built to be driven in the targa Tasmania with his son. There he was signing autographs and I asked if he could sign my 308 vk calais, he did and I shook his hand and said I’ve watched you race since I was 14 and what a pleasure it’s been to have seen all those great races, he smiled and said that’s very kind of you and he’d enjoyed all of it. That vk now belongs to my brother. I sold it to him to keep it in the family with brockys signature still on the glovebox. I now have another 308 vk calais and we cruise together. Everywhere we go we get people coming up taking photos and having a chat. Every year I attend the historic meetings at Phillip Island and sandown where all the cars from the good old days of Bathurst gather. It’s great to be in the company of people who love these cars and that era and takes me back to that day I met the king. Rip Pete always a legend.
  • Wow, that is awesome. Regardless of Brocky RIP, I believe Peter showing himself and values and his ethics principles. He was 60, I'm currently 62. Great interview!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Andrew Denton is the best interviewer Australia has ever had.
  • I've been loving riding the bicycle trail between Diamond Creek and Hurstbridge..... than's Brockie.... it probably would never have been started without you!
  • you gotta love this bloke..i am lucky enough to own a car once owned by Peter.
  • Peter brock was a race car driver and an intellectual. What a combination.
  • the out come is going to be what its gonna be Istill weep for Brocky thx such a great man thanks Pete
  • 'The best parts of my life are now beginning to unflod'. Peter BROCK. 11.45. He was tragically killed 4 months after this interview was filmed.
  • Peter Brock, I'm now sixty three and back in the day of the XU1 you became my hero. In years to follow you still were. And the main reason is because of your laid back attitude, when you lost you never blamed others, if it was your fault you said so. Okay the cross entry of cars became a controversy but it was within the rules at the time. You're still missed mate.
  • If Peter Brock had run for Prime Minister - he would have got in with the biggest landslide margin ever seen!!! RIP Legend !!!
  • @jimamizzi1
I think the insecurity bit comes from the amount of people that were always at there house, he’s kids always said they had very little privacy because of visitors.
  • Grice and Perkins (who built his own engines) were just as good as Brock but you never hear about them
  • It appears Brock was so intense and focused in the last few seconds of the interview that he didn't appear to get Andrew's name right when he Thanked him.
