  • I remember sending him fan mail after the Keown incident 20 years ago and Ruud took the time to respond and send along his autograph too. A United legend 🔴⚪
  • Henry and Van Nistelrooy going for the Golden Boot every year was an era of Premiership football that I really miss to this day
  • Gary Neville has no idea how talented he is at this type of interview a real pioneer well done
  • Gary Neville and the overlap is just pure gold. Ruud was a magnificent player for utd and thoroughly enjoyed watching that , absolutely brilliant
  • @maganrescues
Bro that apology to Sir Alex shows the type of person Ruud is and how humble he is. He's evidently been brought up well.
  • @CrazyTulip
I enjoyed watching this interview! My uncle was Ruud’s first youth coach and even to this day, he hasn’t forgotten about him and recently visited him for his birthday. That’s class! We grew up in the same street as well in Geffen. 😊
  • Had to rewatch after the news about ruud coming back to united in a coaching role ❤
  • Isn’t it superb when your iconic hero’s are as humble and genuine as they were brilliant?Ruud was an absolute bad man on the pitch and off the pitch is clearly a very decent human being, very proud to have had him be such an icon for my club. ❤️⚪️⚫️
  • That’s the best overlap I’ve seen, what an absolutely great human being Rudd is, humble beyond belief.
  • An Everton fan here but this guy was criminally underrated and Scholes saying he was the best striker he played with speaks volumes.

I've watched Man United for more than 30 years and this guy was on another level. Easily my favourite striker in all that time. He is the only player I have ever seen where he could have the ball at his feet in the opposition's box with 3 or 4 defenders around him and he kept his cool, keeping the ball at his feet. He was super-reliable. One of those players you'd bet your house on scoring if he got any sort of a kick of the ball anywhere near goal. Lethal!

This guy will always be my hero. What a player, what a legend of the game. He made me fall in love with Manchester United. That 2002/03 season scored 44 goals. Every time he scored whole of Old Trafford would go RUUUUUUUUUUUDDDD. Just goosebumps. A top top RED.
  • Ruud was the reasons why I falling in love with Manchester United and football generally. A United legend and he will always be my idol in football. I wish him all the best in his coaching career and able to emulate SAF success.
  • @preshalin77
What a player and seems like a better person. Wonderful memories of him
  • @TheSkyOnFire
Despised ruud when he was at manu. Because he was too good 😬 half chance, quarter chance, any sort of chance.... Goal. Absolutely lethal.
  • Gary, you are a natural podcaster, interviewer, conversationalist. You made it so watchable….the filming was quality…the questions flowed….you always bring out the juicy bits in people and most importantly you let your guests take the centre stage….congratulations. And as for Ruud, what. Player! What a mindset! Brilliant Overlap edition.

When I think of Ruud Van Nistelrooy it’s just goosebumps all the way. This guy glorified my childhood. Would shout his name out loud whenever I’d scored a goal either playing fifa or playing football with my mates. What a legend and charismatic personality he is. Thank you Gary and thank you Ruud
