It’s been hailed as a historic milestone towards lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan: Armenia said, it is willing to return several Armenian controlled enclaves to Azerbaijan. The enclaves are uninhabited – only a few people will be directly affected in neighbouring villages. But locals are angry – and worried Azerbaijan will want more land. DW’s senior international correspondent Fanny Facsar reports from Tavush province in Northern Armenia, on the border with Azerbaijan.

Someone is trying to keep that conflict alive.
  • @tarass.1779
As a neutral observer, I would say that the key word is 'RETURN'
  • Why didn't you mention that those land are internationally recognized part of Azerbaijan?
  • @yhusain100
As reported by multiple outlets, the villages belong to Azerbaijan so why is there such a worry to correct this unfair situation? It’s just that a Western ally is being held accountable for a change.
  • Interesting video. So Armenia did occupy and still occupies some Azerbaijani territory!!? We've been told repeatedly Azerbaijan was the aggressor. Something is wrong :)
  • @M.Stolic
Armenians have forgotten how Azerbaijanis were slaughtered in the 90s
  • @ay.4555
armenia occupied those territories. they are just giving them back. Azerbaijan isn't demanding anything more than its internationally recognized borders
  • EU will protect Armenia, in the same way it protected Ukraine and Georgia.

Armenia is a lesson in getting stuck with bad allies. Everyone will say it is so sad but do nothing.

I'm really confused with DW's coverage. The territory in question is legally Azerbaijan's land. They just want their land back. What is wrong with that? How can DW oppose Russia's land-grab in Ukraine, but on the other hand to support Armenia taking land from its neighbor? This entire coverage of DW makes no sense!
  • @Aboleo80
Armenian superiority complex got them in this situation. Peace agreements were offered on numerous occasions and they rejected them thinking because they won decisively in the 90s that the Azeris stand no chance against them.
  • @salamonahad
DW not try to be much armenians than armenians
  • Ironically Armenia and Azerbaijan are probably the closest to a peace deal they have been for decades.
  • @vaterunser3879
Aww poor Armenia, did your russian daddy leave you alone again? What a shame...

  • @aysenuri2419

  • @RAWGRIP54
War, war, war, mankind can't live in peace.

The question should be who owns the land in the first place, you made mentioned of return the land to Azerbaijan but you make it sound like Azerbaijan is forcefully talking Armenian land
