  • One of the best stories about Robin had to do with Christopher Reeve. Right after Reeve's accident he was getting ready to go in to literally have his skull reattached to his spine. He only had a 50/50 chance of surviving, so along with being extremely depressed he was concerned that he might not wake up. In came a doctor, with blue scrub hat and a yellow surgical gown and glasses, speaking in a Russian accent." The man announced that he was a proctologist and was going to perform a rectal exam on Reeve. It was Robin Williams, reprising his character from the film Nine Months. Reeve wrote: "For the first time since the accident, I laughed. My old friend had helped me know that somehow I was going to be okay."
  • Robin and Chris made it clear in many interviews that they were like brothers. They considered each other as family and had a bromance that lasted until Chris's death. What most people don't know is that their friendship started not only because they were classmates at Julliard, but because they were the only two of their freshman class to be accepted by John Houseman into the Advanced Program at the school that year. This meant that Robin and Chris had several classes together in which they were the only students. Out of a class of 20 that included William Hurt and Mandy Patinkin, these two were already being singled out by one of the most prestigious schools of the performing arts for greatness.

Ironically, they both played as Aliens who eventually made the earth their home and found their niche in it. Superman/Kal-El and Mork from Ork. R.I.P. Christopher Reeve & Robin Williams.
  • Christopher Reeves will always be superman/Clark Kent in my eyes 🇬🇧
  • I love the way Christopher put his arm around Robin after his speech 3:35 . You can tell thats pure love and joy he felt for his brother. Very pure.
  • 5:52 Robin Williams is so selfless he muttered "take it, its yours" to a little child that wanted to hold it
  • 3:35 - Putting their arms around each other, walking off...just breaks your heart.
  • Pam Dawber is a class act here; Williams is at first hesitant to go on the stage a second time to receive the award for Favorite TV Program, but Dawber takes his hand and is like "Come ON, it's okay!" Then she has the good grace to call the rest of the cast onstage as well.
  • @Chalky.
The world is a less silly place without Robin Williams in it, and this is a time we need silly the most.
  • @Jill8854
Two beautiful souls taken from us too soon
  • How wonderful to see Robin and Chris together!
  • @happels
You can't help but love Robin. He's very down to earth and humble. He never changed throughout his fantastic career. He is deeply missed.
  • LOL! That look Pam gave Robon at 5:34 - 5:36 when he said, "I'd like to thank the writers, who are all home doing wonderful drugs."
  • People mention Robin and Chris. But man Pam Dawber looked fantastic back then!
  • Christopher Reeve's didn't get enough chances to show off his comedic skills (one of the best aspects of his Clark Kent, in my opinion) and no one could turn an award acceptance speech into a stand up routine better than Robin.

RIP to both Christopher Reeve and Robin Williams. Two icons that we've all come to know and love through their bodies of work. 🙏♥️
  • you watch this with a smile that fades when you realise these men, Reeve and Williams, are gone. Always seems to be the good people that before their time.
