  • Andrew Garfield killed it in this roll, you couldn't help but smile, cry, laugh with him. True a likable dorkable protagonist
  • This is the movie that made me respect Andrew Garfield as an actor, and this movie overall it's just a raw, heartbreaking, beautiful masterpiece, I highly recommend to check it out if you haven't seen it

I am an SDA doctor who served in the United States Coast Guard.. I met Desmond Doss when I was in elementary school. His voice was thin and weak, but his faith was still strong. Stand tall young men, hold high your convictions and principles and God will honor your commitment to HIm. "..for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.."

In my opinion one of the best war films in the last 10years; well written script, grade A acting and casting as well as it being true story. The best scene might be near the end where all of the troops are lined up waiting for Desmond to finish his prayers on Saturday, before taking Hacksaw. The film does a great job bringing to light different moral dilemmas, patriotism, “heard mentality” and obviously religion all in times of war. Andrew Garfield and Vince Vaughn gave outstanding performances

I’m not a man of faith but this movie was so powerful. I’ve watched it several times and it never fails to make me feel inspired.
  • Great movie, the book about Doss is even better. They interviewed Japanese Soliders who were up in the ridge during that time and they said they kept seeing him move soldiers out but each time they would go to fire at him their guns would Jam. Doss was certainly protected on that ridge that day. True American Hero. Impressive to win the medal of honor without killing a single soul.

Frankly in my honest opinion, a man that walks out alone on the battlefield risking his life to defend his comrades by KILLING around 50 enemies is very much a HERO. But a man that walks out on the battlefield alone risking his life to SAVE around 50 comrades even a couple of enemies in the process without FIRING a single bullet is very much a LEGEND.

I cried manly tears when I watched the movie. It was so good I just now teared up watching the recap.
  • He is not Spider-Man anymore. This role shows you that this man is an AMAZING actor. If you didn’t cry at this movie you aren’t human
  • Man... What a human being. Can you imagine how much love selflessness humbleness he had to save folks who thought he was weak?

Hacksaw Ridge is one of my all time favorite movies, Andrew Garfield knocked it out of the park in the movie his performance is so real and visceral

Desmond T. Does also spent my years visiting schools and hospitals all through the years telling of Gods glory and protecting hand. I had the incredible honor of meeting him twice, and will never forget the experience.

Out of all the stories I've heard of war time heroes Desmond's story is by far the most heartwarming and inspiring story of them all to me Truly a hero among heroes and deserves all the love and respect he can get for his deeds

An amazing person in real life and one of the few movies that actually had to dumb down the full incredible achievements of this man
  • @juanmqm6732
Please Lord help me get one more. That phrase sends chills down my spine...
  • This is the kind of people who can be called "Real Heroes" and this man is a legend for sure...
  • @domgag1756
Just remember they toned down what he did. If they did a movie that was 100% of what he did, no one would believe it.
  • An American soldier who save live with 0 kills including the injured Japanese ,that also make me cry 😢
