"People here don't have any sense of time. It's hard to adapt to life here. They waste time in almost everything they do. So we go back and forth."

The African dudes expression is priceless When you’re the only one getting told off and the rest of the continent gets away with it

The Chinese guy didn't say anything wrong.

"It wasn't that long ago, only 50 years", this sentence alone speaks volumes about why Africa is the poorest continent in the world.
  • @donsanjino
I feel that the Chinese guy is coming from the thought that bro we got colonised, you got colonised. We all got colonised. How long are you gonna sit there moping. Get your act together.

I’m African, born and raised and I really agree with this man. Our continent is one of, if not the richest when it comes to natural resources, our climates are great for agriculture, specially in the center and southern parts, after colonialism we had everything to prosper but instead we went backwards. Very few countries truly learned from our colonizers, our governments are inefficient and corrupt, we never really understood the value of our resources, instead we kill and rob from one another. We deserve a big slap in the face

Every time you think you're the shiz there's a Chinese guy who'll sit you down and humble you.
  • This Chinese man is a very sincere friend. Someone who tells the bitter truth to your face is indeed a friend. We Africans complain about colonialism, what have we done about it?. We still worship the whites, at least in most part of Africa. The truth is bitter.

as a South African this is so evident in my country. 28 years after apartheid ended the roads are basically undriveable, the railway non existent, everything was stolen, cities and towns without drinking water and the whole country without electricity. truly leaving behind a empire of dust
  • "They stand at the bar drinking a beer and then start shaking their behind" 😂😂😂🤦this dude destroyed the whole DRC in a few sentences
  • @tiggakayz
"If i have money, I drink all night, no matter if im broke in the morning, I'll drink water." Im not african but this really hits home, something i really needed to hear. Thank you random chinese man.

Imagine if instead of a Chinese guy it was a white male, this video would've been labeled as racist 😅 and all that talk straight to the garbage
  • "In all honesty Eddy, you really are lazy." That has me laughing the hardest.

Ironically this actually reflects how close this man feels to the africans he’s speaking to. This is how Chinese family members speak to each other. For some reason, speaking Chinese makes people brutally honest. They will tell you exactly how much fatter you are than the last time they saw you. If they think you’re failing at life, they will let you know immediately. He’s not lecturing them in order to keep them down or say they are inferior, he’s lecturing them with the hope that they will do better and reach their potential. This is how Chinese parenting works. Edit: I’m seeing from the responses that I’ve overgeneralized and attributed a very common trait to the chinese language. The main point stands that this does not need to be seen as a form of suppression but as a form of encouragement. If your bad situation is a reault of your own bad choices, the. You can teverse your situation by making good choices.

As a Chinese person, I can tell you how open-hearted this man is towards his Black subordinate! Chinese people are generally reserved and don't usually criticize so directly unless they consider you a true friend, even as close as a brother. As for his criticism of the country, it shocked me even more. We typically criticize countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany vigorously because we know that such criticism won't hurt the pride of their people. However, we tend to avoid criticizing some of the less developed countries because we ourselves have been in a similar situation of being underdeveloped and poor. We know what that feels like. But this man courageously brought up this point with his Black colleague, and it wasn't insincere flattery. He must genuinely love the Democratic Republic of the Congo to do this. I could see in his tone and expression the way my elementary school teacher used to complain about me, "Pity the unfortunate, but also anger at their passivity." The pained expression on his Black colleague's face also saddens me. Sigh...

There’s a big reason why black-majority countries are so far behind all other countries and it’s a lame excuse to blame it all on past colonisation - other former colonies that don’t rely on that excuse have grown to become some of the world’s best-performing economies
