How to Use the Interpolate Extension in Inkscape

Publicado 2022-04-12
In this Inkscape tutorial, we will learn how to use the Interpolate extension, which allows us to create transitions between the shapes of two or more selected paths. This is similar to the Blend tool in Adobe Illustrator. One effect we can create with this extension is 3D text.

I was like ... Yo! Yo! .... Amazing. Been using and playing with Inkscape for years. This was brilliant. Tanxx. Wish I could do this professionally.

Watched to learn an extension, picked up two new shortcuts for shapes. Good stuff!

    Very good explanation, Catman. 👏👍🌟

I'm glad to know this is in Inkscape. Yet another super-useful feature Affinity Designer lacks! Illustrator uses these blends to amazing effect in some very realistic renders of organic subjects. If I were using them in such a way, how big a performance hit do the "blends" extract?
  • does interpolate work with a group of strokes ? like to show a transfur path of human parts to an animal part (hoof, paw, wing, etc.)

Hey, thanks for the tut! Unfortunately your sound is only on the left. Please fix that in your future videos.

turns out you need to have exponent 1 now. been working on this for month trying to figure out why my attempts at replication have been failing but yeah whatever current version we have now needs to have that one.
