  • Yea, you always have to look for that horizontal crack on the Mercruiser 2.5 and 3.0 liter engines. That is freeze damage.
  • I love this channel. Its the perfect reminder of how buying a bunch of cheap crap and ghetto DYI-ing stuff in an attempt to "save money" always ends up wasting your time and costing more money than had you just bought something new. LOL
  • Got to love owning a boat .. mines still not in the water this season .. work on them more than you actually on them but it's addictive being on the water , I think that's way we do to ourselves 😂 love the videos
  • @ziptieman
I totally appreciate the effort and explanation. It's a budget boat after all, why not try the budget fix? Thanks for the content, look forward to whatever project you decide to work on for the next video.

Best way to open an oil filter if you don't have a giant pipe cutter. Use a Swiss army type can opener. The old fashioned ones that you would get on pocket knife
  • Say it with me… V8! V8! V8! 350 Mercruisers are a dime a dozen. Slap one in and go boating!
  • @markjohnson3616
Oh she is a great boat hard to find those trihull io keep trying
  • @jstar1000
That motor is total trash with all that welding on the block, jeeze! scrap that pig and move on lol.
  • Did you mike the crank and possible put in an over sized bearing (010) to take up the slack ;)
  • @luisgcasiquet
Thanks for this good video! I loved the rednecky crankshaft fix
  • Guys, if you struggle to get your motor started for a long time, flood the engine severely, or have a stuck carb float, CHANGE YOUR OIL. The motor might not have been 100% to begin with, but I guarantee you this is all because of gas in the oil from when the carb float stuck.
  • You should have replaced the entire rod the rod has been bent it wore the end of the rod it is oval shaped
  • @igormijic
I think it was because you didn't Fix the water issue getting in the oil
