Let's explore how to make cotton candy or fairy floss around the world. In Korea it is called dragons beard candy and it is made by pulling candy by hand into fine strands like hair. In Persia it has a nutty flavour from sesame seeds and is called pashmak. In Australia the USA and the UK it is made by spinning flavoured sugar using a cotton candy machine. Today I will show you how to make all three, they are heaps of fun to make at home.

  • I love how she includes the fails so we don't have to make the same mistakes.
  • @hydrogeddonn
The way she just cracks some complicated recipes in a few attempts is amazing.
  • @pavanshukla5155
The first candy is almost like the Indian sweet SOAN PAPDI...... The only difference is that instead if sesame paste gram flour paste is used...😋
  • @ryderdraws168
Fun fact: cotton candy in French is called "Daddy's beard”
  • @SurpriseKidsFun

I've never heard of or tried pashmak or dragon's beard! I do love cotton candy though! Great video!
  • @elahefaraji9883
I absolutely love the Iranian music she added when she prepared Pashmak. Love from Iran🇮🇷🇮🇷🇮🇷
  • In indonesia, it's called "Rambut Nenek" (Grandma's hair). Feel nostalgic right here

I was so pleasantly surprised to see the pashmak recipe and how closely it resembled an indian sweet we have called soan papdi. we use a chickpea paste with lots of sugar, while the rest of the process remains the same. great fun!

In india we call it "gudia ke baal".. Which is hindi for.... " Doll's hair" I remember the time when I was a child and street vendor would roam ringing a bell..around with packets of these.

Well Originally dragons beard came from China but they still do sell it in Korea’s street markets. Dragons beard is pretty old fashioned

Done I just started watching your videos and I will always watch them. I enjoyed when you exposed 5-minute hacks and how fake/dangerous they are. You're not afraid. An amazing voice for the common good. Thank you
  • @HowTasty

"Now its Winter here in Australia, so it's cold" - laughs in Northern Scotland
  • Your kids are so lucky! They get to “lick the spoon” from the best bowls! 😄

Does anyone else find Ann's voice so soothing and calming 😌❤️
  • @alikix1146
Does anyone else remember the 'Fruit Pie' mixture Ann stored in the jar to see if it will last 3-4 months like the 200 y/o cook book said it would? Because tomorrow it would be 4 months since that video was posted and she can open it (even though it was probably thrown away in the first 7 days😂.) Lets see if she see's this! As much as I love fairy floss, I'm more biased toward pashmak for nostalgic reasons. Being from a Middle Eastern background, I ate this a lot with my family growing up. Besides, what's not fun about eating hair?
